Community Manager

You will be working on a team for this top tech company that uses technology to confront some of the toughest international security challenges including censorship, violence, and repression. We build tools against oppression, and we want to better engage with our community of users and share our insights with the world.

The community manager will be responsible for:
-Designing a social media and community engagement strategy, and implementing that strategy across a variety of platforms and media. For example, this person will be responsible for writing tweets, Facebook and Google+ posts that capture compelling stories of our users or promote our products.
-S/he will be responsible for finding and building relationships with people using our products in repressive environments, and capturing those stories for publication on social media channels.
-During product launches or public events, s/he would manage the team’s social media channels to support the launch strategy.

We’re looking for a gifted writer who wants to use his/her talents to connect with users and share work with the world.
The ideal candidate is someone with experience managing social media strategy and writing editorial copy.
We want to find someone with a sense of humor who is passionate about telling the story of people struggling against oppression around the world.

Responsibilities:
-Design social media strategy to engage with users of our products and evangelize our work to core constituencies.
-Write and post daily updates on social media that highlight interesting news events, promote our partners, and evangelize our work.
-Maintain professional presence on multiple social media channels (including Twitter, Google+, Facebook, etc)
-Partner with other members of the team to help coordinate product launch and public campaigns to promote products and highlight user stories.
-Partner with Marketing to promote a public narrative about the team’s work and the people who use our products.
Be the editor of ideas and keep it updated with content, aligned with our overall comms strategy and marketing objectives

The manager is looking for candidates with strong writing skills and someone who is creative with their approach

Requirements:
BA with 1+ years of relevant role-related experience
1+ years of experience with strong editing and or writing
1+ years of experience maintaining professional social media campaigns

Ideal candidates will also:
Professional and or personal interest in geopolitics ( Please note - manager is not looking for someone who has only studied geopolitics in school)
Interest in Marketing
Ability to prioritize tasks and projects with little guidance
Ability to remain calm under pressure
