Community Managers are tasked with “herding cats,” that is, creating an engaged brand following by feeding followers interesting tidbits, stroking egos, and encouraging everyone to play well together. It’s not a job for the faint hearted. And a truly stellar one will help a brand thrive online.
Skills / Abilities

Promotes events, products and upgrades to customers by using traditional marketing tactics and conversational discussions.
Understands and responds to feedback from both internal and external customers. Able to engage internal staff in brand evangelism.
Familiar with social tools from blogs, to Twitter, to Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+ and all the rest. (Know that the list is exhausting)
Engages customers by responding to requests, and joins relevant online conversations, building both one-to-one and one-to-many brand connections.
