Communications Support Assistant

You will be working for one of the biggest technology companies in the world as a Communications Support Assistant, providing creative and design support to their EMEA communications team. This role is based in Reading.

Salary £18,000 - £25,000
Contract to start ASAP (will look at those on 4 weeks’ notice)
Contract will run until 30th June 2013

Key Responsibilities:
• Assisting the Comms Lead and virtual comms team with the creation and development of communications materials – websites, presentations, graphics, video – as required.
This includes:
o Developing and managing creative projects to meet briefs and deadlines
o Enhancing existing communications channels / vehicles to maximize their creative potential
o Ensuring a consistent application of the client's visual identity across comms platforms
o Providing guidance, advice and coaching to the Comms teams in relation to the use of multimedia and design software.
• Support the EMEA Comms Lead on key communications including summits and presentations. Build innovative and effective presentations that bring the EMEA strategy to life in a meaningful and creative way
• Collect and analyze feedback and revise materials accordingly
• Collaborate with peers across the region and globally to ensure a consistent creative approach is being taken to communications properties
• Maintain, develop and suggest creative improvements to the structure and look and feel of the primary EMEA CSS communications channels including Sharepoint, Academy video channel and intranet

Skill Requirements:
• Excellent creative and design skills, including the ability to turn written and verbal briefs into creative solutions
• Excellent web design, graphic design and video production skills
• Strong organization and project co-ordination skills
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, particularly PowerPoint and Sharepoint
• Extensive experience of using most current releases of design software (eg Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator) and also a desire to stay current by maintaining those skills
• Ability to share those skills by teaching others
• The ability to work under tight deadlines and on several projects simultaneously
• Interpersonal and cross-group communication skills – the role will involve working with many different stakeholders across the region
• Ability to gain support for creative solutions
• Self-motivated and directed, requiring minimal supervision
• Quick learner, with a view to identifying problems and possible solutions before they arise
