Communications Specialist (Web Account Manager)

Provides internal and external communication services to region or areas, teams and individuals to enable Client to meet strategic priorities. Works with stakeholders to achieve consensus, develop communication plans, tailor messages for specific audiences and ensure consistency of messages inside and outside the organization. Manages communication projects including research, planning and writing and editing. Gives voice to the Client story internally, develops positive relationships with stakeholders and protects and enhances the brand image and reputation. With a team, works on large organizational initiatives coordinating with communication staff across the region and participating on cross-functional teams. May serve as liaison with area communicators. Works under the direction of a manager. This is the second job in a 3 level Communication Specialist ladder.

Participates in the development and implementation of communication strategies and plans, linking organizational goals with communication objectives, strategies, messages and vehicles. Edits written documents prepared by others. Provides writing, research, coordination and support with strong project management abilities. Demonstrates ability to build and manage effective working relationships with internal stakeholder groups and individuals. Collaborates with colleagues in regional departments and areas; may serve as liaison to multiple area communicators. Participates in developing and executing project communication plans for leadership, regional and/or area teams.

Researches and writes communication plans; executes all or portions of plans. Provides staff support for working groups and internal departments needing communication. Coordinates with media relations staff in support of organization's reputation management needs. May share on-call media pager with media specialists to support area needs.

Position may require travel throughout the Northern California region.

Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, communications or related field or 4 years of equivalent experience in a directly related field.

HS Diploma required

* Candidate must be proficient in a variety of word processing and presentation software, database applications and desktop publishing, graphics and layout to produce newsletters and other publications.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to maintain high productivity amidst competing priorities and tight deadlines
* Proven excellence in project management, organization and tracking
* Must be able to work in a labor/management partnership environment

**Web/intranet experience

TRAINING PEOPLE TO DESIGN AND USE THE WIKI
UPDATING ORG CHARTS, MANAGING TITLES ETC
SHAREPOINT EXPERIENCE WOULD BE HIGHLY PREFERRED
