Medicare Communications Specialist

Our client is a Fortune-500 insurance/healthcare giant in Center City Philadelphia seeking a contract-to-hire Communications Specialist to join their Medicare team. We are seeking an eager, energetic go-getter to fill this role. If this sounds like you, please read on:

1. Writes, edits, and reviews written and electronic communications sent to brokers and members on behalf of brokers in all Medicare lines of business. Ensures communications comply with CMS regulations, as well as IBC style guide and BCBSA standards. Monitors the timing and distribution of communications to ensure that the flow of written correspondence sent to our membership is appropriate.
2. Writes and edits, monthly webinars and associated emails. Coordinates review process for Government Markets management team and Legal.
3. Reviews materials produced by areas outside of Government Markets to ensure accuracy, clarity, and tone of materials.
4. Assists Government Markets Sales area with presentations and collateral materials, using PowerPoint and other Microsoft applications.
5. Proofreads collateral materials including rough manuscripts, mechanicals, and bluelines, to ensure accuracy.
6. Acts as Broker Communications liaison for the Legal and Corporate Communications approval process to ensure the integrity of information being distributed both internally and externally.
7. Researches CMS regulations to ensure product meets marketing guidelines, requirements, and website specifications.
8. Manages broker marketing communications calendar.
9. Participates in industry calls and conferences as required.
10. Acts as a resource to other Government Markets associates (research, etc).
11. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or related field/equivalent work experience
• Minimum of five years’ related experience in a Communications function
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience in designing, implementing, and coordinating multiple complex projects simultaneously
• Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Familiarity with Medicare an asset
