Communications Specialist

AQUENT is recruiting for a communications specialist to provide communications and change management support on various projects for a local client.

The ideal candidate will partner with the communications team to own the development and execution of the communication and strategy for the organization. In addition, the candidate will provide communications support for broader organizational initiatives and channels, including web, email, powerpoint presentations and other emerging channels. An important part of the job is consulting with Sr.leaders on communications needs in their areas and developing strategic communications plans.

Communications Responsibilities:
Developing communication plans
Updating and overseeing the development of web content
Seeing all communications through the approval process to release
Supporting project events, including key events and launches, roundtables, etc.
Reviewing the effectiveness of all communications channels and making recommendations to leadership
Generating story leads, interviewing subjects and SMEs, researching topics for articles and drafting messages of variable length and complexity

Stakeholder Consulting Responsibilities:
Establishing schedule for periodic check-ins with leaders
Assessing and revising existing tactical communications plans to meet clients' needs
Providing feedback and ideas to clients to ensure communications are meeting their needs

Requirements for this position
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Effectively communicate across many levels (senior executives to team members)
Degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related discipline
3+ years of business or journalistic writing experience
Experience with communications channel development and maintenance
Strong familiarity with financial services industry terms and concepts
Experience with Microsoft Office suite (especially MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Experience with Content Management systems, HTMl and Photoshop a plus
Experience with creating and maintaining communication plans

Ability to quickly determine specific communications needs within a diverse audience

Excellent Project and/or Process Management and organizational skills
Proven problem solving and critical thinking abilities
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and issues simultaneously
