Communications Specialist

We are looking for a Communications Specialist with practical experience in the retail industry. Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced and highly ambiguous environments where foresight and quick decision-making skills are critical. Past experience with retail communications is highly desired, as well as a keen attention to detail, technical aptitude, basic understanding of information design, and strong editorial proficiency including proofing, editing, and production. Knowledge of intranet content management best practices strongly preferred. Periodic Sunday hours are required for this position.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Communications Specialist is a tactical position supporting the Communications Manager to request, gather and ensure timely submission of content or feedback for communications deliverables per prioritized tasks listed below:

Communication Processing
• Review/Edit and build communications within SharePoint 2010/2013 and email
• Desktop-publish and post attachments as needed

SharePoint Intranet (Store Portal)
• Publish content to a SharePoint 2013/2010 intranet site
• Content cleanup and governance

SharePoint Team Site – Communication Request Site
• Update/Maintain Communication Process Wiki
• Create/Update/Maintain Communication templates

PRIORITY FOCUS AREA:
• Editorial proficiency: Content editing, proofing, and production experience
• Keen attention to detail is a must
• Previous experience in Retail Communications space
• Strong technical aptitude
• Basic understand of information design

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 2-6 years of experience in communications management or content production space
• Content editing, development and production experience
• Proficiency with SharePoint 2013/2010 to include creating or customizing sites and web-parts.
• Experience using SharePoint 2013/2010 as a Content Management System (CMS) to publish content
• Any experience implementing or customizing InfoPath Forms is highly desirable
• Proficiency in All Office applications required
• Ability to be flexible and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast paced environment while taking direction from multiple individuals requiring strong time management skills
• Proven written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to clearly communicate with diverse audiences
• Strong interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills
• BA/BS from an accredited 4-year university
