Communications Coordinator

Our client in Silver Spring, MD is looking for a Communications Coordinator to start immediately on a contract only assignment.

General Statement of Duties:
· Maintains all databases established for standards processing (projects, participants, standards tracking, public review commenter’s and elections) and issues timely and accurate reports from them.
· Aids in the Marketing of all standards developed and overseen by the department-sponsored programs.
· Provides support to Standards meetings, whenever needed. Assist in the planning of the special events

Specific Duties:
· Provides timely information for distribution to the public and participants via the web.
· Work with committee(s) and committee officers on development of specific projects, as assigned.
· Promotion of company standards activities via web, social media, outreach
· Serves as technical editor for select standards
· Processes projects through the steps of the approved standards process, from project proposal to approved and works to ensure that critical deadlines are met by all parties.
· Responds to inquiries from the general public in a prompt, efficient and courteous manner via telephone calls or e-mail
· Participates in the distribution of the information through the web.
· Provides web support for assigned committees and within the department.
· Registers all due dates, and provides accurate and timely input to the internal databases and the appropriate world wide web sites.
· Develop and deliver presentations on company standards activities

Requisite skills:
· Excellent verbal and written communications
· Strong organizational skills and self-starter
· Literate in MS Office and experience with CRM software preferred
· Ability to plan and manage meetings
· Ability to grasp and articulate technical concepts
· Desire to learn about security products and interfacing technologies

Education and experience:
· Baccalaureate degree or commensurate experience
· Exposure to technology and technical issues
