Bring your communication talents to the table and join the leading, global coffee retailer HQ'd in Seattle! We have an immediate 6 month contract need for a Communications Specialist who's inspired by telling stories and making messages land with impact. This role will produce content for internal News and Events publications. You have deep experience assessing your audience and communicating in crisp, clear terms. You thrive on building communication experiences that inform, influence and inspire. You have independently led communication campaigns, gathering insight from key sources and disseminating information in digestible media. You have worked in a team setting to create targeted, strategic communications that build awareness around a key idea and encourage specific behavior.

This job contributes to client's success by implementing internal communications programs within the Global Technology organization at client. Protects and enhances the Company's internal and external reputation with communication materials. Works collaboratively with team members across the organization to implement communications plans and tactics in a timely and accurate manner. Models and acts in accordance with guiding principles.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Develops and disseminates accurate, relevant and timely information to key assigned internal and external audiences. Advises and consults with cross-functional peers on the consistent, accurate and timely implementation of communications and plans.
- Implements processes for planning, updating, publishing, editing and archiving communications objectives.
- Produces content for internal News and Events publications.
- Supports internal and external communication projects and initiatives, with a focus on the implementation of communication plans. Plans, writes, edits, facilitates, distributes and tracks communication materials. Evaluates processes and recommends solutions to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of existing communications products, programs and processes.
- Supports the measurement efforts against campaigns.
- Supports the preparation of communications relating to operations, product changes and other initiatives to ensure that field partners and internal audiences receive appropriate communications.
- Contributes to a communications calendar. Gives insight and input to the cadence of communications.

Summary of Experience

- Corporate communications or consumer-facing media, preferably at a multi-unit retailer or an agency

Basic Qualifications

Basic qualifications for this role are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or similar major
- 5-7 years of experience in corporate communications or consumer-facing media
- Experience with SharePoint 2013 and Adobe Creative Cloud a plus
