Communication Designer

As the Communication Designer on the UX team, you will be responsible for working with UX researchers and designers to making user research findings, insights, and data and crafting them into compelling, engaging, and memorable messages to internal and external audiences.

Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
1. Partner with the team of user experience researchers to create print and digital materials that disseminate key research insights and design guidance.
2. Create engaging infographics and information visualizations based on qualitative and quantitative data.
3. Develop simple, clear communication tools to make information and guidance memorable and actionable.

Overall Responsibilities:
Create interactive experiences (such as microsites) that allow people to explore and engage with research insights and design guidance.
Recommend and implement new strategies for communicating research findings to our stakeholders.
Contributing to text content and content strategy.

Required Skills:
- A degree in relevant field - information design, communication arts, graphic design. In lieu of degree, - 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Thorough knowledge of Sketch, Photoshop, Indesign, or other similar software, and ability to learn.
- Excellent written, visual, and in-person communication skills.
- A portfolio of print and online work that includes creation of PDF-style reports and information visualizations.
- Creative problem-solving abilities and desire to experiment with new ways of presenting complex information.

Nice to Haves:
- Illustration skills
- Interactive data visualization skills and knowledge of related technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript).
- Interest in or experience with using video for advertising and marketing.
- Interest in or experience with exhibition design.
- Interest in or experience with video editing and production.
- Experience working closely with UX and product management teams in the tech industry.
- Experience in the nonprofit or social-good sector.
- Interest in and passion for working on developing economies.
