Communication Designer

Looking for a unique and dynamic role that leverages your creative mind and visual eye? We’re looking for you. As Communication Designer, you would play a leading role on decision intelligence projects, leveraging your skills to design and produce consumer insight-focused presentations and other internal communications for our Global 1000 clients. The role provides the opportunity to work across a diverse set of industries – packaged goods, healthcare, financial – with a multi-disciplinary team of strategists and researchers.

First, a little about the team…we are a decision intelligence company with expertise in gathering consumer insights. Our research teams help organizations maximize the value of research findings as well as existing consumer and market knowledge by synthesizing insights and designing engaging communications (e.g. infographics, presentations, videos, exhibit spaces) to socialize and preserve it. We are experts at contextualizing and humanizing information, building powerful and visual stories about market trends, consumer targets, and marketing strategy for the organizations we serve.

The ideal Communication Designer…
• Can take design from concept to implementation : You build sketches, candidate designs, and a finished product from a clean slate. You can steer projects on your own as well as give guidance and direction to outside collaborators.
• Balances art with purpose: You recognize that a design is more than aesthetic appeal, and strive to create engaging designs that tell compelling stories.
• Is highly collaborative: You’re at your best when learning from and partnering with others, and integrate seamlessly into multi-disciplinary teams.
• Has a broad design skill set: You’re comfortable bringing a concept to life in a variety of mediums – transitioning seamlessly between design tools (e.g. InDesign) and office apps (e.g. PowerPoint). You would jump at the idea of attending workshops and conferences to grow your skill set.
Responsibilities of the role include…
• Manage design components of research projects
o Interface with account managers to develop pitches for projects in which clients seek solutions for socializing consumer insights (e.g. customer persona, shopping process, marketplace trend) inside their organizations
o Partner with a project team of researchers and content strategists to solidify design objectives and translate insights into design concepts
o Produce work such as presentations and infographics
o Partner with other creative professionals (e.g. Back-End Developers, Video Editors) in the design of deliverables such as videos, microsites, and physical exhibit spaces
Ideally you…
• • Have 2-4 years agency or in-house graphic design experience (experience with any of the following a plus, but not required: copywriting, video editing, exhibit design, web design)
• Have ample experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Are comfortable working in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. PowerPoint, Word)
• Have experience designing for print and web
• Are highly self-motivated and proactive
• Have professional project management experience
• Work well within multi-disciplinary project teams, with internal and external stakeholders
