Communication Consultant / Content Strategist

In the role of Communications Consultant, you will consult in the design of intranet sites. Guide business partners through site design and content strategy development and will be the primary point of contact for the business partner during this process. Participate in the implementation of a new digital signage platform, teaching signage owners how to use the new system and develop content strategies for their monitors.

Key Responsibilities:
• Think strategically, working across functions/departments to understand the needs of the business and their audiences. This requires particular attention to web content, usability and interaction design functionality.
• Consult with business partners on their intranet and digital signage needs, helping to refine their requirements and design an effective solution.
• Execute strategies and programs to support the evolution of the company’s digital channel priorities.
• Participate in implementation of the digital signage platform across campus working with signage owners to develop content strategies and train content curators.
• Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, managing the project timelines and budgets.
• Implement and improve work processes, governance model and best practices for effective and engaging digital content. This includes forging credibility and strong partnerships across business functions and levels.

Required Skills:
• 3-5 years of experience in communications or web design with experience working in cross-functional teams, interacting with graphic designers, usability specialists, writers, application and web developers and business partners.
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Web Design, Marketing or Advertising or other communications-related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a thorough knowledge of writing for the web, grammar, spelling, punctuation and usage. Prefer candidates with experience communicating complex topics to a broad audience without jargon.
• Experience in using web metrics to analyze usage patterns and recommend optimal content plan.
• Familiarity with web content strategy, design and development. Basic SharePoint 2013 experience a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate, build constructive relationships and exercise tact, diplomacy and creativity in consulting with and providing service to clients at all levels.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Additional Information:
Location: onsite in Milwaukee, WI
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
Duration: 10-12 months with potential to extend
