Commercial Program Manager
Based in Reading

Salary £40,000

To start ASAP Contract will run until 30th June 2013 but the plan is to then extend on a rolling 12 month contract basis (although this will not be put into the contract)

Reason for the role - Role is needed to manage the programs/processes/tools that are in place to drive my client’s software release. Support is needed for key deals; marketing programs to drive increase case studies and also tracking and reporting on the performance vs scorecard & other metrics.

They are ideally looking for the following - A Communicator who can talk to Sales teams effectively - ability to turn complexity into simplicity – possible background in sales environment - Quick learner, Resilient & Flexible : A team player capable of working with ambiguity and expressing potential improvements - Organised with Attention to detail : Tracking & Reporting produced in a value-add and consumable way - Experience of managing funding budgets: Compliance Processes are being delivered and tracked.



The Commercial programmes manager role adds value to Microsoft by managing, tracking and analyzing the operation of key Commercial programmes driving Deployment, Devices and Applications. Specifically, it will include the following responsibilities: For the tracking of Commercial metrics (actuals and forecasts), both the sub scorecard metric and the Windows team metrics. Reporting back as part of Commercial Governance regarding progress, issues, asks, etc • For tools, process and funding forecast associated with programme funding. Working with Corporate teams to ensure that Account Teams are ready to work with the programs and funds available. Subject Matter expert on funding programmes and the processes • Working with the Product Marketing Managers & the appropriate account team as necessary to ensure we have a clear plan of action that is being executed for getting these metrics green for end of FY



Success is measured by: • Subsidiary scorecard metrics are reported accurately supports management of metrics. • Funding program reporting in place to a high level of accuracy. • Compliance processes for the subsidiary are in place and are being acted upon. • Readiness and uptake of programs by account teams • Reporting, analysis and recommendations produced in a value-add and consumable way How is the Commercial programs manager role unique from other roles? The role is unique in its: • Flexibility and broad exposure to the breadth of the business, the systems, and the audience it serves (Corporate, operations, marketing, segments, BG’s, finance, sales) • Engagement with varied audiences serving both the operational and commercial elements of the business such as finance, sales and marketing.

The key initiatives and challenges facing the role are: • Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the key programs in a rapidly changing environment • Effectively supporting the business, given the amounts of pressure and demands of their time being within the Windows Business Group • Ramping up efficiently to absorb the breadth of the business knowledge and systems needed to bring valuable insight in to support the account teams • Merging all and simplifying all information coming from different sources in a useful, consumable format What is the Key Success Criteria: • Be accountable around the reporting regarding Scorecard metrics, marketing and BIF • Compliance Processes are being delivered and tracked • Reporting produced in a value-add and consumable way • A great team worker capable of working with ambiguity and expressing potential improvements Knowledge, Skills and Experience • Essential Experience o Sales/Partner experience o Analytics o Operational Process Experience •
