Commercial Marketing Manager - Cloud

We are looking for a passionate B2B Marketing specialist to join the Central Marketing Organization (CMO) in the Commercial Marketing Manager role. You should embrace our vision to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. 

The CMO is the UK’s field marketing team with a marketing remit that includes both Commercial and Consumer Go To Market accountability and marketing excellence. CMO is responsible for bringing the modern marketing vision to life for the UK subsidiary, providing the commercial leadership and accountability we need to deliver connected sales and marketing centered on the customer. The CMO creates a strong center of gravity that bridges the work we do with sales segments and the focus we have on landing breadth marketing via our demand center’s. The CMO also plans and executes consumer marketing campaigns and programs, embracing our modern marketing principles. 

This role of Commercial Marketing Manager (Cloud + Enterprise Business Group) goes beyond a traditional marcoms role and starts with ensuring you are the trusted advisor to the Head of Cloud + Enterprise in the UK and setting the strategy and marketing plan that is aligned to the business priorities. You will work closely with the CMO marketing services center of excellence (Operations, Social, Digital, Analytics and Events) as you put our customers and partners at the heart of everything across the Technical Ecosystem portfolio. This area is a big growth opportunity, and you will be part of the Commercial Marketing team.
 
As the Commercial Marketing Manager, you need to be passionate about delivering a compelling multi-channel customer experience. You must be data driven and able to extract insights from standard reports to continuously improve and optimise performance. You need to get excited about modern marketing capabilities like marketing automation and unlocking new opportunities when data and technology converge. 

The Commercial Marketing Manager needs to be collaborative to work effectively across a broad set of local stakeholders and Corporate stakeholders including agency partners. Their key stakeholder will be the C + E Lead and their team of Product Marketing Managers (PMMs). You will partner closely with the Demand Centre Product Marketing Manager and other business stakeholders to build an effective demand gen plan to drive opportunities and new contacts directly to our sales and partners and into our Demand Centre’s. You will work with Engineering Leaders and the Customer Advocacy Lead to ensure that the local plan reflects the needs of the Segments. 

Your outcome based plan will have a strong mix across Reputation, Demand Creation and Sales Enablement

Responsibilities:

  • Gain mindshare with a new technical ecosystem whilst nurturing our existing reach, harnessing the power of our marketing engines and community engagements across; Dev, IT pro & data scientists.
  • Talking to developers in their own language, to drive awareness & adoption of the platform from a programming language perspective 
  • Build strong relationships with the Dev Audience PMMs to develop a marketing plan that aligns to the overall business plan for the BG. Understand the business priorities for the area they are focused on to ensure maximum impact of marketing execution 
  • Act as audience champion and subject matter expert into CMO to ensure the right content is being created and delivered to a technical audience 
  • Work across a mix of online content and in-person hacks to drive thought leadership and code-cohorts 
  • Enable authentic community engagement 
  • Be a strong peer to the C + E Marketing Team who is focused on Infrastructure & Apps and Data & AI 
  • Be an extended member of the BG teams and part of their monthly business reviews and Quarterly Business Reviews – put in place and own the marketing contribution metrics aligned to the technical ecosystem priorities 
  • Ensure that the marketing plan aligns to the other BG priority plans and the overall One Commercial story around Digital Transformation 
  • Works across global and local stakeholders to influence approaches and share learnings to help build out best practice across technical marketing community world wide 
  • Understands overall program and content strategy, coordinate content reviews and approvals with local stakeholders (including PMMs, Segment Marketing Managers, Legal & Privacy) to maximize local relevancy, and oversees and local content production to augment the global content. 
  • Partners closely with the customer advocacy lead and CMO center of excellence (Operations, Social, Digital, Analytics and Events) to land marketing plan execution across our paid, earned and owned channels and leverages standard reporting dashboards to continually optimise performance across the marketing mix. Report back to local stakeholders on marketing performance results and insight, aligned to the business plans. 
  • Put in place and lead a V-Team consisting of members from the BGs, Partner, CSE, Services, CMO, PR, Cloud Developer Advocates and the Reactor and align with other V-teams to ensure a consistent all-up approach x-BGs. 
  • Influence the budget allocation and measure effectiveness of plans working with the Data Insights & Planning Lead

  • Communication – comfortable and confident with communication at all levels. 
  • Stakeholder management – Ability to manage high intensity of stake holders, campaigns or activities at any given time and ensure team, as well as stakeholders, are taken along the journey 
  • Fresh Thinking – someone who is on the pulse of the latest trends and best practices and stay abreast of major trends in developer communities. 
  • Listening – hearing others, and responding to feedback 
  • Learning - proactive, fast learner, ability to multi-task and prioritise 
  • Digital Marketing – passion for digital marketing and the opportunities it can present for us, our partners and our customers

  • Experience & Education: Minimum of 4 years of experience marketing to developers, with a proven track record of building technical relationships within the local professional developer community (those paid to code). Experience working at a large global multinational a plus. Deep insight about the local technical ecosystem, including cloud platform providers, developer communities and business trends. Deep marketing competencies/skills & experience, including analytical skills
