A Fortune 500 Athletic Apparel company is looking for talented Color Designers to join the Color Dept. team.

Responsibilities

- Create palettes based on category and global color strategy.

- Craft a consumer and brand-right narrative through color.

- Plan and execute product details, reviews samples, troubleshoots achievability issues (70-80% of job)

- Plan multi-season blocking strategies.

- Collaborate with Materials Designers and Product Designers to achieve desired color effects.

- Actively seek expert input from Color Design and other categories to develop appropriate solutions.

- Collaborates with Design CODE to color category prints and graphics.

- Lead in-depth research on consumer trends, insights, competitors, for a focused market segment/category.

- Finalizing product details and proactively following through on execution of color on each product.

- Clearly communicate all changes for final confirmation.

- Maintain color calendar/timeline/deadlines for the category.

- Develop line art, color design server, GPIN, PDM, merchandising line, cutting samples, and work with material consult to coordinate materials for product.

- Collaborate with Design, Product Marketing, and Material Development to focus color solutions for market success.

- Gather category specific information on the consumer, channels, and market.

- Develop appropriate solutions in regards to quality, cost/value, manufacturability, sustainability, merchandising, and aesthetic finish.

- Create and execute innovative, retailable color solutions for category or gender-specific line.

- Together with Color Design Director, Sr. Color Designer or Color Designer II, create seasonal category-specific direction of color, materials and graphics that reflect design philosophy, product performance, and appeal to targeted consumers.

- Gain knowledge in creating category lines each season.

- Gain an understanding of Color and Design and gain knowledge in market and lifestyle trends that influence and impact the category.
