We are seeking a Collaboration Business Analyst. The successful candidate will have experience delivering SharePoint solutions, support the facilitation of design sessions with clients and foster a team-oriented, collaborative approach. The Collaboration Business Analyst will have worked on solutions that extend “out of the box” features through advanced customization, custom workflows and integrate other technologies with SharePoint.

Our SharePoint team is currently in growth mode and we are seeking a Collaboration Business Analyst to assist our organization with implementation of Microsoft Office 365 including SharePoint 2013 and Outlook. Our initial team was formed in October 2013 and currently consists of 2 people. Their current focuses are on migrating our 13,000 employees off a proprietary email system and onto the O365 platform. The intent is to build further collaboration on this platform, and this group needs to grow to meet the upcoming demands of social outlets, mobile interfaces, and collaboration in all forms.

As a Collaboration Business Analyst, you will work in a collaborative environment in which knowledge is shared within and between teams. You will interview business users, gather and document system requirements, and help to steer solutions and designs to leverage Out Of The Box (OOTB) SharePoint features and functionality while meeting end user’s needs.

What we are looking for:
• The Collaboration Business Analyst will assist multiple business units with specific requirements to create the appropriate information architecture, taxonomy, and solution approach for their SharePoint and Office 365 based solutions.
• Collaborate with development and project management teams from the design to the delivery of SharePoint applications and portals.
• Work with customers and project managers to gather both functional and technical requirements, assess current business and technology architectures, and make decisions around SharePoint strategy and implementation.
• Understand when SharePoint is the right solution and when it is not and the ability to communicate this effectively.
• Partner with our Enterprise Data Architect to build a Taxonomy that matches the business
• Contribute to the development Governance Plans
• Create UI designs and mock-ups
• Act as technical lead in translating business requirements into technical specifications
• Develop and implement test plans for projects
• Validate the results of the testing process
• Coordinate and assist in system and user acceptance testing
• It is also vital for your role as a Collaboration Business Analyst that you have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and that you can convey complex information in a clear and concise manner to team members as well as individuals at all levels of the organization. You should also have a work style that is more process-oriented than task-oriented.
Job Requirements
Skills needed to be successful in this position:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with SharePoint 2010/2013, understanding of OOTB features and when to apply them.
• 4+ years of technical leadership or management experience
• Bachelor Degree in a technical field or 5+ years related experience Required
• Experience guiding business units to consider process changes that can leverage OOTB features that may have a higher return on investment rather than developing custom solutions
• 3+ years’ experience, with particular focus on serving as a liaison between technical and business team members
• Experience with SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, Web Parts, and workflow creation
• Excellent organizational, time-management, coordination, interpersonal and communication skills with ability to provide collaboration leadership to multiple projects / teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with, and working knowledge of, process modeling, use-case development, process maps, sequence diagrams and object models
• Experience creating documentation for development projects, including technical specs
• Lead and facilitate information gathering sessions to validate business use cases, gather and document business and functional objectives
• Deep understanding of information architecture, taxonomy, content types and their respective applicability to sites, site collections, managed metadata, keywords, other enterprise content management features and SharePoint solutions
• Experience with software analysis and design, including requirements traceability through all phases of the project lifecycle
• Participated in Quality Assurance and UAT of SharePoint rollouts
• HTML5, JavaScript and CSS experience is Optional
• Certifications such as MCPD, PMP, CSM Optional
