Category Sales Planner

As a Category Planner for North America Sales you'll, develop a singular viewpoint of the Category business opportunity to influence the growth of the Category in the marketplace. 

Pre-season 
- Anticipate trends and issues in the Category to identify potential opportunities or risks 
- Quantify short and long term growth opportunities through financial modeling 
- Track key competitors in the marketplace to highlight Category trends and/or opportunities 
- Collaborate with key stakeholders in Category and Sales to develop plans to seize the opportunities identified 
- Influence the Planning organization to ensure Category insights are appropriately represented in account business plans 
In-season 
- Review and analyze deviations from plan; identify potential risks or opportunities in the business 
- Track and monitor total Category results against the plan 
Post-season 
- Recap Category results for the season and cull insights that will influence Category business direction 

Qualifications 
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Sales, Fashion, Marketing or a related field 
- 6+ years' experience in Retail Buying, Planning and/or Strategic/Business Development for a multi-store retailer; 2 years' additional experience in lieu of a degree 
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of information and insights from multiple sources into a clear and concise plan 
- Strong and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and influence others 
- Experience in developing an understanding of customers, competitors and retail trends; knowledge of sports apparel and footwear market preferred 
- Ability to interpret financial sales data to make decisions and recommendations that impact the business 
- Advanced knowledge of MS office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint; proficiency in Excel to include creating spreadsheets, complex formulas, pivot tables, etc 
- Ability to work in a matrix environment with multiple business functions 
- Strong team player and ability to work with the cross functional partners and senior management on all aspects of the business
