Category Manager

Working in close collaboration with key stakeholders across UK, EMEA and Corporate HQ teams, the role serves as the key interface across the UK retail business, partnering with the sales, marcoms, channel marketing and PR teams to develop effective category plans.

• Create the UK integrated consumer marketing plan for the product entry-price points
• Manage the end-to-end process for devices sold via UK channels.
• Thought leader in messaging, promotion and channel implementation in order to define strategy and execution excellence for an integrated marketing plan.
• Subject matter expert for the category to internal and external audiences, through a deep understanding of the UK market and retail partners.
• Develop and present best-in-class retailer pitch decks to drive excitement and buy-in.
• Ensure the landing of a consistent brand narrative in line with guidelines, both at retail and within all other marketing vehicles.

Business Planning:
• Drive changes in strategy, based on competitive responses and market dynamic.
• Provide category leadership to ensure development, implementation and measurement of effective business plans.
• Lead the category’s forecasting process and the development of supporting rationale.

Business Management:
• Sharp focus on business priorities and forecasts.
• Prioritise investment to maximise ROI for the category.
• Implement corrective actions and drive accountability for the category.
• Design measurement processes used to track the efficacy of marketing programs and investments for the category.
• Provide in-depth business analysis and manage communication on business performance and issues, leading recommendations and adjustments to increase return on investment as appropriate.
• Deliver business results according to the key scorecard metrics for the category.

Product and Opportunity Definition:
• Lead creation of segmentation and targeting for a major product, multiple products, or channels.
• Influence creation of value proposition and positioning for a major product or multiple products.

Modern Storytelling:
• Understands customer and/or stakeholder needs and connects emotionally with multiple audience types.
• Adapts quickly to create storytelling themes in unique situations, across products, and in support of the product
• Enhances storytelling by using an in-depth understanding of the reasons for others' responses and communication styles.

Key Success Criteria

• Excellent product evangelist & storyteller: experienced marketer with a talent for articulating a complex business story precisely, succinctly and truthfully to various audiences including influencers, retailers and partners.
• Capability in building a brand with proven experience in 1) consumer audience insights, 2) core competency in social media; 3) core competency in channel marketing.
• Category capability: strong commercial acumen and drive for exceptional business results.
