Camera Operator

Our client is looking for a camera operator works with digital cameras in single-camera operational conditions, producing pictures for directors by combining the use of complex technology with creative visual skills. Responsible for camera operation to capture video or film images on location or in studio setting. Usually includes ability to light the scene and create a complimentary look and feel. Camera operator collaborates with producer and/or director and brings creative shooting style or approach to projects.

Work activities may include:

· assembling, preparing and setting up equipment prior to filming, which may include tripods, monitors, lighting, cables and leads, and headphones;
· offering advice on how best to shoot a scene, explaining the visual impact created by particular shots;
· planning shots
· practising the camera moves required for pre-arranged shots;
· studying scripts;
· finding solutions to technical or other practical problems
· being prepared to innovate and experiment with ideas;
· taking instructions from the director or the director of photography;
· working quickly
· taking sole responsibility in situations where only one camera operator is involved in the filming;
· keeping up to date with filming methods and equipment;
· repairing and maintaining equipment;

Qualifications and Requirements:

Four-year college degree preferred with an emphasis in Broadcast Communications. Two years’ minimum experience preferred. Ability to work well with others and possess strong organizational and computer skills. Ability to lift 30–50 lbs.
