Store Designer/Cad Technician - Onsite Are you interested in helping grow a program focused on engaging and acquiring college student customers through direct collaboration with universities. We’ve launched 19 physical locations to date: a staffed customer order pickup and drop-off location on and near campuses including Purdue, U Mass, UC Berkeley, Isla Vista, Penn, UC San Diego and more. This team is looking for an experienced, analytical and entrepreneurial Store Designer who will contribute to the design of the physical locations on and near college campuses. This position will engage with internal and external teams to manage the execution of multiple end-to-end projects at a given time, help kick off signage and fixture packages to vendors and process potential site information. The ideal candidate is a passionate self-starter who is comfortable operating in an ambiguous environment and has outstanding communication skills and customer obsession. The role’s key responsibilities will include: • Managing store design for New Construction & Renovation Projects • Translating design brand standards and concepts to individual locations in an innovative and cohesive way • Working with key internal and external stakeholders (including architecture firms) in the production of comprehensive design development packages and shop drawings • Design administration throughout CD and construction phases working closely with external stakeholders and construction project manager/s • Contributing to project schedules with alignment from Construction and Development teams, communicating dates to broader team and meeting established deadlines Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) • 3+ years of experience in Architecture or Interior Design • Experience in: Architecture/ Interior Design for Retail, Lighting/Furniture Design, Fixture Design; Concept Design, Design Development, Construction/Permit Documentation, 3D Modeling, Digital Graphics, Sketches & Renderings • Advanced software proficiency: AutoCAD, Photoshop, Sketchup (or other 3D modeling), Adobe Creative Suite • Experience managing outside MEP, architecture and other design consultants • Basic knowledge of building and ADA codes and compliance issues Preferred Qualifications: • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem solving skills. • Proven track record of owning project from start to finish – self-starter and self-directed • Proactive and flexible attitude; willingness to take an “all hands on deck” approach • Ability to work effectively in an extremely fast paced, ambiguous environment. • Retail experience (ability to design with a customer experience/journey in mind) • Experience with ADA as it relates to retail • Experience with design for retail or restaurant rollout is also important (typically faster paced and has other unique challenges) • Advanced software proficiency: AutoCAD, Photoshop, Sketchup (or other 3D modeling), Adobe Creative Suite • Must have a portfolio
