TITLE: Assistant Merchandiser
DEPARTMENT: Global Merchandising

- Responsible for partnering with the Sr. Merchandiser/Merchandiser in the development and implementation of the seasonal business strategies that meet or exceed financial goals and customer expectations for global business, ensuring each market’s needs are met.
- Partners with cross function teams in the development and execution of a compelling product line that meets business and customer needs.
- Coordinates daily activities across designated department.
- Identifies risk and opportunity and makes recommendations.
- Builds strong partnerships with members of the cross-functional team.

(For the assigned category or categories):
• Collaborates with Manager and Global Design team to agree on the season’s product direction, fabrications and key items.
• Partners with manager and cross-functional team members to develop key concepts and items, promotional strategies and store assortments to ensure that the collection is commercially viable in each market and provides an exciting customer store experience.
• Support the development of assortment in accordance with overall strategies and financial plans.
• Assist with building global assortment plans that meet global needs and in order to deliver a single detailed assortment to design.
• Partners with Global Design and Production to develop and execute the necessary seasonal calendar; manages the team calendar and leads the weekly cross-functional team meeting. Participates in all product milestones and ensures that Global product needs, including market exclusives, are met at concept stage through final assortment
• In partnership with Regional Inventory Management teams, owns the global flow strategy.
• Communicate the final assortment and manage the exception booking process. Ensure partnership during buy planning to clarify, guide and balance. Partner’s with Inventory Management on final investment plan and strategy and address concerns.

In Season Management
• Weekly business review and product recapping to chase opportunities and inform future season strategy/product development and partner with IM teams to execute.
• Capture flow, season code, size model and time on offer at the style level in the global ACT (assortment tool).
• Partner with manager to assign global store tiers for all styles including exclusives based on historical and current product performance, as well as marketplace information. Eliminate redundancies in the product assortment.
• Partner with Global Production on fabric liability process
• In partnership with manager, approves garment fit intent and ensures product execution meets the design aesthetic as well as commercially acceptable quality standards.
• Assist with Average Unit Cost management through the pipeline - target setting (inputting product strategy), mid-way "frolls", and cross functional leadership.
• Participates in the assignment of ticket price for US market and the guide price for other markets.
• Assist with analyzing market hind-sighting and provides and provides finding to key partners for continuous improvement..

- Working with the Merchandiser on the company's Women’s Bottoms business.

Top Three Skills needed to perform this job?

1. 1-2 years of merchandising/buying experience
2. Demonstrates the organizational ability to facilitate multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
3. Possess an understanding of financial measurements and how to impact them.
