Business Technologist

The primary responsibilities of the Business Technologist will include:

  • Eliciting business requirements from business users and subject matter experts
  • Define and document requirements, write functional specifications, and perform business process design in conjunction with operations teams.
  • Serve as liaison between the internal/external business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.
  • Lead requirements validation and traceability analysis, manage scope and requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead development of common standards and tools.
  • Assist in operational rollout and support, and Translates business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization.

 

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Gather requirements from the business line users for various systems.
  • Fully document all requirements and solutions.
  • Liaise with internal and external technology partners.
  • Work closely with administration, technology, and operations partners.
  • Participate in releases, perform system integration testing.
  • Perform/organize user acceptance testing.
  • Prepare project status reports for Senior Management.
  • Use strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with particular emphasis on the production of clear and detailed written Business Requirements and Functional Specifications. Requires ability to work independently (self-motivated) and with a distributed team.
  • Must build and maintain strong relationships with business and technology partners;
  • Understand and analyze business processes & workflows.
  • Responsible for defining functional specifications, business requirements and acceptance criteria for web development
  • Maintain browser and QA testing standards by developing and continually enhancing regression test cases
  • Collaborates with team members on cross-functional initiatives and coordinate the integration of creative and technical elements into a final product.
  • Edits site content and coordinates with writers, producers and other contributors to ensure relevancy, consistency, style, and quality.
  • Updates content and makes basic layout/structure changes. Ensures all content flows through required regulatory review.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Marketing, or related field
  • Must have experience with Agile software development / JIRA Administration
  • Must have experience with Enterprise Content Management (ECM) / Content Management Systems (CMS)
  • At least 5 year’s experience of digital/technology project management work
  • At least 3 years experience working within corporate brand and web standards
  • Hands on professional experience with basic web and graphic design software -HTML/ CSS/JS, Adobe CS Studio
  • Must have deep understanding of browser and platform compatibility issues
  • Experience in web design/information architecture best practices
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with ability to work under pressure of deadlines and ever-shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have exceptional communication skills, be highly organized, be committed to a team environment and maintain a professional demeanor
  • Experience in Financial Services is strongly preferred, Asset Management ideal
