Business Intelligence / Data Analyst Lead

Our client company, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is looking for a Data Analyst Lead to add to their team. This is an on-going assignment with the initial duration being one year. You would be a W2, hourly employee of Aquent during this time.

The Data Analyst Lead will primarily be responsible for performing data analysis to address strategic questions. You will additionally be responsible for designing and implementing processes and layouts for data sets used for modeling, data mining, and research purposes. The ideal candidate will be able to combine expertise in business intelligence with an ability to think strategically about ways to gather business-relevant insights from the data.

Specific Responsibilities include:
• Thinking strategically about uses of data and how data use interacts with data design.
• Performing data studies and data discovery around new data sources or new uses for existing data sources.
• Performing statistical analyses with existing data sets in Excel (or other analytics tools).
• Visualizing and reporting data findings creatively in a variety of formats.
• Present new insights and analyses that inform strategic decisions.

Required Skills and Attributes:
• Degree in Business, Physical Sciences, Statistics or related technical field. Bachelor’s required, Master’s preferred.
• Practical ability to visualize data, communicate the data, and utilize it effectively.
• Highly creative, with the ability to make connections between concepts in ways others don’t see.
• Strong strategy and communications skills.
• 2-4 years experience in strategic data analysis.
• Proven ability to provide strategic insights in an agile environment.
• Proficiency in specific data analysis packages (e.g. SPSS, SAS, STATA, Tableau, Neteeza, Microsoft BI and/or Excel).
• Strong mathematics and statistics skills.
• Coursework or practical experience with data mining.
• Coursework or practical experience building.
