Business Development Manager - Design Agency

My client, an experienced design agency are on the hunt for a Business Development Manager to join the team.

This agencies heritage is in creating and growing brands for global clients across Marketing, Brand Identity, Packaging and Branded Environments.

With offices in throughout Australasia, this agency have a dedicated team of creative-driven professionals that possess the skills, resources, and the deep experience to provide strategic marketing advice, concept design and development, production and project management to any client anywhere in the world.

Key responsibilities:

1. Growth Planning

• Developing new business initiatives to grow the business in line with the company’s vision, business and growth plans.
• Identifying tools and support needed to achieve growth.
• Identifying target market opportunities and new product and service ideas which will facilitate growth.

2. Relationship Building

• Identifying key decision makers in target organisations and building relationships.
• Developing a good strategic level understanding of target businesses and their needs and using these as a basis for relationship building.
• Building and maintaining relationships with a large network of prospects and influencers.
• Personally managing key stakeholder relationships to reinforce their confidence in and support of the agency.

3. Effective Sales Management

• Developing a strong understanding of the agencies brand and the company’s capabilities and processes.
• Delivering effective creative presentations (pitches) that win new business.
• Developing sales tools (such as a corporate profile, examples of client work, etc.) that can be used to promote the agency to existing and potential clients as well as other influencers and stakeholders.
• Utilising software applications and other tools to manage prospects and deliverables and to facilitate learning from successful and unsuccessful sales pitches.

4. Facilitation of Client Outcomes

• Making sure that client needs are understood and service requirements are addressed appropriately.
• Working closely with the Directors and General Management to determine desirable existing client interventions, with a view to identifying specific needs, opportunities to up-sell existing clients and to test new product options.
• Providing effective on-the-ground support for the project management team when the need arises.

The ideal talent will come from a design background, as the sensitivity to selling the agencies services comes with an in-depth knowledge of all design elements.

Ideally you will be a seasoned BDM however we would also consider and agency suit that has proven experience in developing new business with both new and existing clients.

$130K OTE
