Brand Program Manager

Seeking an experienced Brand Program Manager to be part of the Brand team for a highly visible, brand and communications role located in Santa Clara, CA.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving global name development and approval, managing cross-disciplinary brand projects and acting as a liaison between the brand team and the business units.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Naming
- Direct the naming process from creation through management, legal approval and delivery the name.
- Work collaboratively and efficiently in cross-functional teams, keeping teams directed and focused
- Works closely with creative services to ensure proper visual brand follow up post naming.
- Cover the full spectrum of naming from products and product family, through labels for internal groups, entities, advisory boards, etc.

Messaging
- Work closely with verbal branding, education and creative services teams to develop a messaging hierarchy derived from the corporate narrative that will be adopted company wide.
- Support education and governance programs to socialize and encourage adoption of the corporate messaging.
- Establish and manage process for the brand review of copy and messaging.

Project management
- Collaborate with the brand team to create and maintain of project plans.
- Identify, document and manage scope or deliverable change requests required whether initiated internally or by the client.
- Create and maintain accurate and timely status reports for weekly staff meeting on Mondays.
- Interface with client stakeholders regarding project deliverables, progress and solutions.
- Coordinates weekly tasks and assignment of project resources..
- Track all budget-related information, including billable hours and burn rate.
- Ensure the success of the project while remaining within the scoped time and budget.
- Manage and helps ensure client satisfaction in partnership with the brand team.
- Notify the internal team of any risks, weaknesses or opportunities that could impact the success of the project, escalating to upper management as appropriate.
- Maintain an understanding of the business unit’s operating environment and internal processes and procedures that may affect the project’s success and applies that knowledge as input to developing viable solutions that solve client problems.
- Maintain an understanding of industry trends.

You Have:
• Ideally worked in a branding and naming capacity for a global organization, preferably Fortune 500.
• BA/BS in Marketing, Business, IS or equivalent plus 5+ years of related experience in a Marketing or Communication organization. Open to experience in other relevant fields (i.e. information technology, product development/emerging technologies etc.) as long as you can demonstrate relevancy to a communications role.
• Created an established track record and reputation for successfully managing similar brand and naming projects.
• Solid project management skills and are adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must be a confident communicator and presenter
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading skills and the ability to present concepts verbally
• Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills
• Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in Desktop virtualization and Saas applications.
• Self motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
