Brand Identity Designer

We are looking for a Brand and Identity Designer to support various areas of brand activity, including guidelines and standards development

YOUR PORTFOLIO MUST SHOW YOUR BRAND/IDENTITY DESIGN AS WELL AS CONCEPT.

Objective:
1. Support brand marketing for Creative development and design
2. Build and manage development of brand guidelines and standards in coordination with cross functional partners and brand leadership.
3. Build other style guides and standards, process guides and training manuals
4. Build iconography and visual / design elements for various areas of branding
5. Partner with Brand Managers and business line contacts to understand business and marketing strategy and translate it into crystal clear creative direction for execution
6. Develop creative work based on brand requirements and guidance received from various partners
7. Manage/negotiate workflow to ensure workload level matches allocated creative resources. Occasionally manage creative work through outside agency.
8. Recommend appropriate vendors and creative resources. Manage vendors when necessary. Manage capacity to ensure workflow matches allocated creative associates per team. Prioritize work and manage creative capacity. Develop associates and perform administrative tasks.
9. Working from a brief with a copywriter, generating ideas to present to internal teams
10. Manage projects and working within a budget
11. Editing the final results for presentation

1. Ambidextrous creative person – strong understanding of strategic brand objectives and the ability to roll up ones sleeves and translate these into actual visual and creative work through design
2. Ability to direct collaborative efforts for creative activities throughout the organization, possibly including internal resources, external resources and other constituent groups as appropriate with the aim of furthering Brand goals.
3. Excellent presentation and public speaking skills, as well as excellent written communication skills.
4. Ability to manage change, resolve conflicts and ensure collaboration within teams and/or units; includes maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity.
5. Ability to take initiative to identify, prioritize and implement all elements required for team to fulfill responsibilities in keeping with core strategic goals.
6. Strong problem solving skills, including ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate; ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems; ability to develop problem solving skills among direct reports and other team members as appropriate.
7. Ability to evaluate and identify opportunities from a strategic perspective, including ability to develop, prioritize and implement plans to meet organization's core strategic goals.
8. Ability to assimilate new concepts and practices into position and the department and provide effective training to subordinates for on-the-job training, policies and procedures, departmental training topics and professional development.
9. Understanding of the principles and practical application of branding, positioning and differentiation.
10. Ability to work independently and manage the independent work of other team members as appropriate; includes the ability to recognize need for involvement of other teams/peers and capability to effectively facilitate that collaboration.
11. A self-starter with high integrity and personal standards with the drive and determination to succeed and the ability to create the right environment through enthusiasm and respect
12. Extremely well organized and detailed oriented
13. Excellent influencing skills and an ability to gain buy in from all relevant stakeholders.
14. A strong, pro-active team player who has managed teams who is able to pull a team together and communicate the goals, gain buy in and support.
15. An ability to innovate and delegate implementation through involving other employees / team members

Required Qualifications / Experience:
1. Talented, versatile, strategic-minded Creative person deep understanding of branding and how it can be brought to life through branding
2. Several years’ experience in managing, building and guiding the development of brand related creative material, notable design successes
3. Brand Standards design experience a plus
4. Major agency experience a plus
5. Extensive experience leading and managing Design / Art Projects and Writers, ambidextrous (understands both art and strategy) experience in collaborating with Brand Managers, Business Leaders and other Design people
6. Strong conceptual thinker with a deep understanding and experience in bringing the brand to life in tone of voice and creative
7. We’re looking for someone with 7 to 10+ years of experience as a Creative Leader on the Agency or In-House Agency side with a focus on direct-to-consumer advertising, email, digital, Social Media, Customer communications
