Brand Development Manager

Our client is a luxury retail management firm that works with the hospitality and resort businesses. They are seeking a collaborative leader with a hand in creative design and strong background in branding/marketing. The Ideal candidate has a proven track record of managing out a small team of creatives, pitching branding initiatives to leadership teams and can also roll up their sleeves and do a bit design work themselves! This candidate also has in-store, packaging and retail experience and will report directly to the Creative Director. For the right person, this role will go permanent. While this client's HQ is located in Southern California, this role is on-site in San Francisco, with a 40 hour/week commitment.

Essential Duties + Responsibilities
 Work with the Founder and CEO, and CCO, to understand the creative concept
 Create the mood board reflective of the creative concept, as well as key ideas for the store’s design
 Partner closely with senior executives, and store design department, on all elements of the company’s
branding: store name, logo, specific spirit of the store or project, etc.
 Once internal approval is obtained, ensure legal approval for the name
 Participate in the creation of the project’s marketing budget with appropriate corporate partners,
and/or hotel property
 Design physical mock-up for store signage, coffee cups, and other appropriate elements
 Partner closely with event planning to determine the store opening strategy, and respective marketing
of the events
 Responsible for sourcing appropriate marketing materials and vendors, within allotted financial budget
 Source vendors to produce marketing collateral, and negotiate financial terms
 Create and maintain library of appropriate vendors by geographical location, property-specific need, etc.
 Create marketing materials for trunk shows (3-4 times/year)
Consistently streamline process to ensure maximum efficiency
 Partner closely with Retail Field Operations team, and Store Management, to understand their
marketing needs, as well as the results (success or opportunities) of marketing materials
 Adjust quantities and/or types of marketing materials depending on feedback from the field, and tailor
to each store’s individual needs
 Consistently devise new ideas for media (digital vs paper?), as well as greater abilities to measure
success
 Coordinate and conduct photo shoots on store, or hotel properties, and create database of images
 Works via product team to get appropriate materials/images to represent brand appropriately
 Research/innovate new ways to develop more marketing tools, technology, and channels (i.e. social
media)
 Create the ‘calling card’ of the website and manage its digital assets
 Develop ways for us to market ourselves better & test new ways of marketing ourselves
 Create style guide for the company (setting all marketing efforts in alignment – color palette, motto,
vocabulary, graphics, fonts, how to use, brand personality, tagline, watermark, etc.)
 Consistently work with uncompromising high standards

Job Requirements:
 8-10 years of experience
 Expertise in Adobe Suite (InDesign, illustrator, Photoshop)
 Fluency in Microsoft Office
 Experience working in retail environment essential (ideally luxury and/or multi-brand environment)
