Brand Designer II

We are looking for a truly talented, cheerful designer to help re-brand one of the brand sites. This isn't about being ‘just good enough” you have to want to deliver on nothing less than excellence-- in sprints.

In addition to having flawless taste, an envious portfolio and an upbeat attitude, the the Brand Designer will be responsible for:
· Taking a brand re-design from concept to launch.
· Understanding usability principles that help drive successful and scalable designs.
· Creating customer-centric assets by integrating branding and marketing objectives into designs.
· Ideation and development of design concepts, which may include inspiration, research and competitive analysis
· Partnering with marketing teams, and creative partners in developing scalable brand solutions across multiple platforms including desktop, mobile and apps
· Regularly presenting work internally and with senior-level clients

• Minimum of 5 years design and branding experience, with 2+ years of digital experience
• Experience working with cross-functional teams across platforms, and with partners including UI, UX, and APP designers and developers
• Strong portfolio demonstrating a deep understanding of brand identity
• Digital experience with eCommerce
• Experience in all current design programs and software
• Strong design, verbal, organizational, and time management skills
• Understanding of typography, layout, form, and color
• Experience creating style guides and brand guidelines
• Customer-focused thinking
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS and print process a plus
• Report into strategy manager; work with her for first three months; then work cross functionally; translate branding vision into a style guide, teach it to creative team (in house UX team)
• Function as in house agency and the client is INTERNAL; VP of retail, director of strategy and head of strategy

• Brand refresh involves two teams: Strategy and merchandising team and creative team

• Work cross functionally with marketing team and creative team
• Offsite advertising
• Could be some presentations to the CEO (high level)
• Speak to design explorations you’ve done
• Opportunity to work on photo shoots at JFK studio

• 40 hours; 10am-6pm; no OT; all work done onsite

• Small team; casual dress; be yourself; helpful; nice; inclusive

3 months; potentially longer. There are FTE opportunities on other teams that they can be referred to if they are performing well

• Someone who doesn’t need micromanaging; need to take guidance and feedback well, be good at time management
• Looking for someone who understands how design needs to be scalable
• Need digital experience
• Design builds upon itself
• Looking at their understanding of graphic design principles, typography
• Experience with photography would be a plus; ability to work in an imperfect studio environment
• Be a little scrappy if you need to
• Ability of experiment
• Cross functional
• Self-starter, great time management
• Design maturity
• Openness to feedback around design; willingness

• Adobe Suite with an emphasis on photo shop and illustrator
• Photography experience is a plus
• Understand design principles around UX/UI – extremely helpful
