Bi-lingual On-Air Marketing Manager

Leader Entertainment Company is currently seeking an On-Air Manager for its Latin America division to create and implement on-air promotion strategies for two of its networks. This position reports into the General Manager of the networks. Bi-lingual (Spanish – English) required. Position based in El Segundo, California.

This is a TEMP TO PERM ROLE

We are seeking an individual to manage On-Air asset needs including overall look and feel, promo elements, rotations, documentation, team communication and trouble shooting.
Responsibilities:
– Create an On-Air strategy to position networks and actively communicate content to target audience to reflect priorities set by the GM in the programming grid and monthly overview.
– Identify promotional needs, create production plan and distribute work load among the On-Air team.
– Supervise the creation, copy and application of On-Air strategy in order to generate an impactful, rich and attractive viewing experience.
– Provide direction to On-Air team on the production and post-production of communication elements (i.e. promos, interstitials, tune-ins and ids)
– Manage and supervise On-Air team including producer-editors, graphic designers and audio engineers.
– Responsible for quality control, on-time delivery and accuracy of all communication elements.
– Manage On-Air budget and allocate resources accordingly.
– Coordinate with Programming Operations to ensure smooth transition of shared materials, timely delivery / hand over of short format and use of server capacity / archiving policies.
– Supervise the design of playlist, the creation of the break structure and the scheduling plan as part of a comprehensive strategy to build audience awareness and engagement.
– Manage planning process of On-Air elements to maximize effective use of available inventory and rotation.
– Coordinate with Creative Services, Marketing, Web & Ad Sales on promotional placement in cross channels and websites.
– Ensure implementation and monitoring Cross Promotion/Barter deals according to agreed on terms with content providers.
– Coordinate with Art Director / Brand Manager on issues referred to the look and feel of the networks, and periodical updates of graphic package.
– Work together with Art Director to establish brand identity for the networks, content blocks and individual programs.
– Monitor overall performance of content, promotional breaks and consistency of On-Air look.
– Interface with Research Analyst to monitor and analyze ratings in relation to promo impact.
– Run and analyze audience and inventory reports on promos, barter, partnership and cross promotional efforts.
– Develop and manage cross functional relationships including but limited to Creative Services, Programming Operations, ACCESS magazine, Web and Ad Sales teams.


Requirements:
– Ability to create strategy, understand and align to vision.
– Knowledge of promo production & post-production process, ad sales, marketing strategy and network operations.
– Understanding of broadcasting technology and processes.
– Capacity to balance strategic, creative, management and operational activities.
– Proven leadership and management experience.
– Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build teams and engage staff.
– Ability to initiate, maintain and leverage cross-functional relationships at all levels of the organization.
– Teamwork and proactive approach to creation of an environment of collaboration.
– Excellent oral and written communication skills.
– Attention to detail, ability to prioritize and organizational skills required.
– Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
– Ability to work under stress and time constraints.
– Time management skills.
Experience & Education
– BA in Communications, Journalism or related field
– 10+ years overall experience
– 4+ years related experience in similar environment including television station or cable network.
– Bilingual Spanish / English (written and verbal) is a must.
