Benefits Communication Specialist

The Benefits Communication Specialist will be a member of the benefits consulting team and will work with members of the creative team and outside freelance production artists to support client communication needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Responsible for independently analyzing technical resource materials, summarizing complex benefits information and writing clear and concise communication.
Presents drafts that are grammatically and structurally correct.
Demonstrates comfort with different writing styles and tone; able to write both technical and creative/persuasive copy.
Ensures that materials are delivered with the utmost quality and in a timely fashion; edits and proofreads all materials for accuracy/reasonability.
Manages graphic design team composed of professionals on the creative team, as well as freelance production artists.
Strong project management skills with ability to execute programs with speed, accuracy and efficiency.
Juggles many projects under tight deadlines; develops contingency plans and shifts priorities when necessary.
Develops and manages associated project budgets.
Communicates with print vendor on printing requirements and coordinates file preparation with the production artists to facilitate delivery to the printer or project manager.
All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of increasingly responsible experience developing benefits communication materials.
Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, journalism or English.
Exceptional writing and editing abilities.
Excellent understanding of grammar and composition.
Successful candidate must have attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Must be comfortable collaborating with other team members.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects successfully and meet deadlines.
Flexibility in schedule in order to meet hard deadlines outside of normal work hours.
Must be client-focused, self-motivated and flexible.

SOFTWARE:
Very proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite including Microsoft Word, Acrobat, PowerPoint and basic Excel in a PC based environment.
Working knowledge of InDesign.
