Our client is seeking a B2B Lead Sales Associate to support the Division of Membership and Scientific Advancement with strong sales skills and entrepreneurial drive. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a business to business sales program with Fortune 500 and other chemical and biochemical companies. The incumbent will identify, develop and pursue leads, drive the process of designing custom training solutions, work with marketing to create promotions and product packages, maintain customer relationships and evaluate customer satisfaction on an ongoing basis. This is contract-to-hire full-time positron with a competitive compensation plan!

Work Design: Manages a unit or function that is part of a larger function. Follows established organizational policies. Develops procedures; recommends policies. Decisions involve translating the Division’s goals and objective into unit objectives, defined work assignments and projects; conducting and implementing actions; and short-term planning.

MUST HAVES:
1. 7+ years of proven sales experience with a proven ability to cold call and generate new relationships
2. Technical Product experience (i.e. training courses, etc.)
3. Ability to hit the ground running with minimal supervision

Position Accountabilities:
The position will be a key part of a worldwide organization by managing the sales needed to deliver the next generation of training and education activities that will accomplish the Department’s mission.

1. Develop and execute B2B sales strategy for the professional education and leadership training offerings
2. Grow B2B revenue base from almost scratch by identifying and closing new business
3. Prospect for new business, cold call, develop relationships, and cross-sell to the existing customer base
4. Listen to customer needs and design training packages to fulfill them
5. Sell products and services to global and internal organizations without territory restrictions
6. Manage ongoing B2B relationships and cross-sell/renew offerings
7. Negotiate price/terms of sales and prepare sales contracts
8. Help drive and position B2B marketing message for offerings by working with internal marketing team
9. Work with outside marketing and lead generation agencies to meet sales goals and keep the sales pipeline full
10. Implement and adapt existing CRM systems to facilitate B2B sales
11. Work with internal content development teams to adapt and develop products to meet market demands
12. Develop knowledge of current offerings and department abilities to be able to judiciously offer customized solutions to customers
13. Travel to sales/marketing meetings, shows and conferences as requested to pursue new business and sell products
14. Assist with other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Technical Knowledge:
College degree with equivalent experience (Chemistry degree or degree in related discipline a plus; usually has an advanced degree or equivalent experience of 7+ years of sales experience. Background in science, engineering, or other technical disciplines is a plus but not a requirement.” Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills needed. Superior customer service and sales skills as well as excellent organizational skills needed. Experience selling, cold-calling, and handling rejection. Must be comfortable speaking about technical products at both a very high and very detailed level depending on point-of-contact. Ability to work flexible hours as needed to engage customers in other time zones and with different weekends. Self-starter with strong desire to achieve results is required. Previous experience selling training and professional educational products is desired. Previous experience growing/managing a sales team if successful is a plus.
