Avid Video Editor/Production Assistant

The Avid Video Editor/Production Assistant is responsible for day-to-day editing with Avid Media Composer, media management and digital camera production. Core responsibilities have an emphasis on production, vendor coordination, and technology. Motion graphics design experience (After Effects) is a big plus. Additional and preferred responsibilities include some PA work, reporting, ordering and managing transcripts as well as a working knowledge of specific software.

Core Responsibilities:
-Production Responsibilities - Using Avid Media Composer, assembles recorded footage into finished projects matching the director’s vision. Demonstrates the ability to visually tell a cohesive story. Uses shooting scripts and raw materials to trim footage segments and assemble video sequences. Inputs music, dialogue, graphics and effects. Creates rough and final cuts. Shoots digital video utilizing various professional and semi-professional camera equipment. Assists with lighting and on-set production needs.
-Vendor Coordination – Works with and coordinates interactions with Client’s vendor partners.
-Technical Knowledge – Operates professional/semi-professional digital cameras in manual mode. Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot editing software (strongly desired). Demonstrates Webinar or live streaming knowledge (strongly desired).
-Personal Assistant – Orders and manages transcripts, escorts and assists talent (which may entail some scheduling responsibilities). May include paperwork management, light filing and organizational responsibilities.

-Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of multiple content channels
-Demonstrates the ability to anticipate and proactively address issues; provides effective to real-time technical issues during live events; offers creative solutions
-Demonstrates the ability to lead teams across multiple locations and coordinate with vendors, the meetings group, and multimedia team
-Demonstrates the ability to facilitate discussions and ensure follow-through by team members
-Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of associates and senior business leaders; strong grammar and syntax skills; strong presentation skills; strong inter-personal skills
-Demonstrates strong detail orientation, process orientation, organizational, and multi-tasking skills; ability to effectively manage an unpredictable workload and meet established deadlines
-Demonstrates the ability to collaborate and develop/maintain working relationships inside and outside the organization to enable effective completion of business objectives
-Demonstrates the ability to work in a team environment; initiative to work and learn independently and proactively contribute to department goals; and ability to lead others while maintaining effective business relationships with associates throughout the organization
-Demonstrates sound judgment in resolving matters of moderate complexity
-Demonstrates initiative by identifying issues for managers and team members; knowledge of video and production best practices
-Requires a minimum of 3 years of relatable experience in a corporate environment
-Degree in Film/Video or a relatable field is preferred but not required
