Under general supervision, provides first level user support for CAD (Computer Aided Design) and/or PDM (Product Data Management) related activities via telephone and computer (e-mail). Participates in troubleshooting system-level problems. Analyzes user-reported software problems. Prepares training materials to be used in classroom training events. Assists in conducting basic training. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Consequences of error are easily measured and can be confined. Skills are typically acquired through the completion of an Associate's degree in drafting and 3-4 years of related drafting experience or 5-6 years of related drafting and/or product data management experience.
May assist with processing print requests and preparation of transmittal's. May distribute engineering, supplier, and technical data as required. May update and maintain engineering data base files with information contained in routine and less complex engineering job packets (i.e. bill of material, design specifications, etc.) according to established procedures. May assist with image file creation using reproduction equipment and auto programs. May assist in entering and maintaining project data files consisting of technical data, engineering and supplier drawings, purchase orders, technical specifications and other project required data. Becomes familiar with existing user methods, processes, standards, lessons learned and best practices. May assist with updating and maintenance of local workflow data bases and data control record keeping systems. May assist with documentation of on-going processes and departmental projects. May utilize limited project management skills in the organization and execution of project assignments. May assist with general maintenance and operation of reproduction equipment. Complies with corporate HSE initiatives. Incorporates HES quality mission and vision in supporting delivery of products and services as well as their own work activities
