Associative/Creative Director

Tribune Content Solutions is seeking a Creative Director who has a strong passion for envisioning the future, collaborating across divisions, and directing the user experience and graphic designers/art directors to meet product objectives. This person must be comfortable in both business and creative environments, presenting creative content solutions that tie to business objectives. He/she must remain nimble and flexible overseeing a multitude of projects; high energy and the ability to thrive in a fast pace environment. Above all, this person must have a strong visual point of view for the current state and future state of digital. He/she must be able to lead a team, manage the evolution of a brand, and work in a cross-functional world.

The Creative Director is charged with determining the best ways for us to visually represent our client. It's very much a people-oriented job, involving development of high-level concepts for design projects. It also involves working clients, pitching designs, and understanding client needs. At times, we require you to develop visual designs, and at other times, the Creative Director will be responsible for recruiting and managing third party design firms as well as internal design resources. You will use your visionary product insight and significant technical and design expertise to develop Content Solutions across all markets. This will involve working cross-functionally and in deep collaboration with sales and marketing, as well.

The Responsibilities:
• Be accountable for the overall success of Content Solutions visual offerings
• Help define and implement ongoing improvements to the production and creative processes for Content Solutions
• Lead the creative execution of all platforms/campaigns
• Produce work at the highest quality by delivering to the business and needs
• Ideate for video, digital content and more
• Have a proven ability to mentor, develop and inspire staff
• Be able to understand and work against a solid strategy

The Requirements:
• BA or BS degree
• 11-15 years of experience designing for an agency or brand
o Product Management experience in print and/or web design capabilities (must know how to work in both media for integrated campaigns)
o Experience with Information Architecture knowledge also helpful (and knowing HTML5, adaptive/fluid layouts, Jquery, AJAX at least from the design perspective – what is and isn't possible).
o Ability to lead projects from concept to completion. Apply best practices in user interface and interactive design, including image optimization and site mapping
o Experience with software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign & Flash
o Experience with Adobe AfterEffects & video editing (a plus) needed for this position
o Knowledge of HTML, DHTML CSS, Actionscript & Drupal
o Ability to make evaluative judgments; Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
o Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
o In depth understanding of the operations of a creative agency including but not limited to; resource/project management, and strategic planning
o Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a fast-paced team.
o Flawless project management, change management and leadership skills
