Associate Vendor Manager/Buyer

This fashion-focused client is looking for a driven, enthusiastic Associate Buyer/Associate Vendor Manager (AVM) to provide support to a buyer and/or buying team. The role is an excellent opportunity to learn the buying function and e-commerce business from an experienced team.

Day-to-Day Activities

Buying/planning:
• Assist Vendor Manager in placing seasonal buys, from assortment planning through to PO creation.
• Provide ad hoc and regular catalog management, reporting and analysis.
• Assist in strategic projects and promotions to achieve business objectives.

Marketing and Content management:
• Provide support for the Buying/Vendor Manager Team
• Provide ad hoc and regular online content management, reporting, and analysis to help decision-making.

A successful candidate will have a natural affinity for project management, be motivated by a fast-paced environment, and will have an interest in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will also be intellectually curious, have a results-oriented approach, and is a great communicator with a keen understanding of customer needs.

The candidate possesses 1-3 years of professional work experience with a track record of successful relationship management, strong analytical acumen, and experience generating and managing reporting and analysis. Great communication skills and strong database and computer skills will be essential to success.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 1+ year of professional work experience
- Experience using Excel & other data to analyze and support business decisions

Preferred Qualifications
- Buying/Planning experience
- Fashion industry and/or online experience
- Exceptional analytical skills
- Strong database and computer skills
- Adept at learning new software programs and tools
- Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills
