Associate Retail Marketing Manager

Technology brand needs an Associate Retail Marketing Manager. This position fills a pivotal role, supporting the Retail Marketing Account Team to ensure that retailer specific programs are developed and executed. The Associate Retail Marketing Manager uses his or her experience & training to partner with key stakeholders to create programs that drive sales of products and aligns with the goals of the Account Sales Manager. The Associate Retail Marketing Manager is tightly integrated within the assigned account teams and provides project management expertise to ensure that tactical plans are created and managed to execution on time and on budget. The Associate Retail Marketing Manager stays on the cutting edge of the videogame industry’s technology and business practices, helping to define new and more effective ways to engage consumers and sell products through the retail channel.


Principle Duties / Responsibilities:
• Provides support to the Retail Marketing Account Team in the development & execution of promotional plans for assigned retailers. Performs a variety of tasks to bring plans to life.
• Acts as a liaison with other teams to insure synchronization of planning between Marketing, Creative Services, Sales, and other Retail Marketing Teams.
• Supports the sell-thru of products thru retailer and online locations.
• May provide support against a range of tasks including interfacing with retail partners, writing creative briefs, securing & submitting content/assets for review, creating planogram layouts, creating promotional ideas, working the approval process, conducting retail tests, inventory reviews, analyzing program results, reporting, building decks.
• Utilizes business analytics to measure success of programs and make modifications/recommendations for future programs based performance analysis. Communicates insights to key decision-makers to help shape the future of the business. A key value of this role will be the expertise developed to know what works for assigned accounts.
• Subject matter expert on the opportunities, challenges and processes for assigned accounts. Establishes and communicates resources specific to assigned accounts for the use of the entire Sales & Marketing organization. Specifically, key retailer contact lists, timelines for specific initiatives, key retailer calendar dates such as meetings, resets, etc.
• Assists other groups in accomplishing goals in assigned accounts. Facilitates meetings between retailers and other partners to drive successful initiatives in assigned retailers.
• Maintains constant awareness of the competitive environment and opportunities in assigned retailers. Brings forward innovative ideas for promoting products.

Required Knowledge / Skills:
• Solid organizational skills; understands roles & responsibilities of the cross-functional team and fully engages other partners to achieve objectives.
• A planner and a closer.
• Excellent communicator with strong presentation skills. PowerPoint Pro.
• Process oriented with strong project management skills
• Business analysis skills; able to track business and tie back to promotional/marketing tactics.
• Knowledge of and passion for the videogame industry.
• Up to 25% travel. Position located in San Mateo, CA.

Qualifications:
• 4 year college degree in business, marketing, or related experience.
• 2-4 years consumer electronics experience with demonstrated history of accomplishment in the areas of channel marketing, product marketing, project management, or sales management.
• Experienced in developing and managing joint and coop funded marketing programs with retailers.

Preferred Experience / Education:
• Videogame category experience or retail buying/planning experience.
• Project Management experience using any project management software applications

Job Specifications:
• Associate Manager creates ideas and initiatives for assigned retailers. Decisions on final strategy will be made collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, and Retail Marketing partners.
• Final budget approval is owned by Director, Retail Marketing/Sr. Director, Retail Marketing and Coop (as approved by Sales Manager) with higher level spends requiring approval of company executives.
• Strong knowledge base plus skills of influence and persuasion will be important in this role to be effective as final decisions and budget are owned by others.
