POSITION SUMMARY

The Content Operations Associate Producer/Editor will focus on the ingestion, encoding, editing, tagging and QC of family-friendly video content to be programmed cross-platform on client's network of sites. Content includes long-form television episodes, short-form webisodes, trailers, music videos, and UGC, as well as xml, graphics (JPG’s and GIF’s) and other interactive digital files. He/she must be able to demonstrate the regular and sustained ability to operate in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision on a day-to-day basis. This individual should be able to make confident and intelligent decisions that reflect a solid understanding of our business goals and strategies, while also maintaining the integrity and quality of the projects for which he/she is responsible.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The client Content and Programming team creates and programs a variety of cross-platform digital experiences with the goal of creating a rich, personalized connection with our guests via storytelling, providing access to engaging, entertainment content, and by building and deepening guests’ relationships with characters and stories.

We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented and motivated Content Operations Associate Producer/Video Editor to focus on the ingestion, encoding, editing, tagging and QC of family-friendly video content to be programmed cross-platform on Disney.com’s network of sites. Content includes long-form television episodes, short-form webisodes, trailers, music videos, and UGC, as well as xml, graphics (JPG’s and GIF’s) and other interactive digital files.

This person will work with our programming teams to coordinate efforts to add content to client's network of sites online, on mobile devices and on connected TV. This person will also work with our technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve any encoding or ingestion problems that arise. The Content Operations Associate Producer/Editor must be able to demonstrate the regular and sustained ability to operate in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision on a day-to-day basis. This individual should be able to make confident and intelligent decisions that reflect a solid understanding of our business goals and strategies, while also maintaining the integrity and quality of the projects for which he/she is responsible.

Our ideal candidate has experience in encoding and ingestion of video assets. The candidate should be comfortable around the tools used to encode and ingest content as well as have a good eye towards the quality of the encodes used for streaming. Additionally, this individual should be passionate about Disney content and the emerging technology platforms associated with digital entertainment.


RESPONSIBILITIES
This role will be instrumental in creating unique and entertaining guest experiences across online, mobile and connected TV platforms. A list of responsibilities includes:
Encoding assets for streaming
Ingesting assets to our content delivery network
Managing encoding, ingestion and QC activities to meet the project plans defined
Coordinating with a team of Quality Control technicians to ensure encodes used for streaming meet client's quality standard
Managing the titles as they go through the encoding and ingestion process
· Trouble-shooting for encoding or ingestion errors through the site encoder

Reporting on content operations status weekly, or as needed based on priorities
Monitoring the new assets that are delivered for completeness and quality
Performing QC on encoded assets to catch any blocking, pixilation, and visual artifacts that fall below quality thresholds. The candidate must be able to troubleshoot the root cause of the artifact and distinguish it from a problem generated by encoding between a problem in the master file
Using video editing tools to add and/or remove content from video files based on clearances or promotional needs

QUALIFICATIONS

· 2-3 years in content operations

· Experience with video encoding; Experience with encoding for adaptive bit rate streaming a plus

Experience with video editing; Qualified candidates must have knowledge of Final Cut Pro or Avid
· Working knowledge of web and mobile video players; knowledge of the Kaltura and YouTube platforms a major plus

An understanding of different film and video formats including aspect ratios and video compression
Experience with emerging Internet technologies (i.e. rich media, streaming, etc.)
Proficiency in all major aspects of digital production, specifically a working knowledge of XML, online video encoding and streaming, and content management systems
Knowledge of encoding solutions and processes
