Associate Marketing Manager - Hardlines, 3870307

Our client is seeking an Associate Marketing Manager, Hardlines on a contract basis.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
• Provide leadership for marketing and product development activities for assigned business segment or product line in order to achieve financial growth and profit targets.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Leads product development from conception to sell-in for Hardlines categories.
• Organizes the product development process; maintains schedules and timelines for product design and development.
• Assists in the negotiation of complex contracts and monitors contractual obligations; may also negotiate new contracts.
• Assists in marketing, PR, retail development, event management, and buyer relationships.
• Conducts financial and market analysis to provide recommendations on partnerships and product development strategies.
• Identifies and evaluates new business and product opportunities through research and trend analysis.
• Conduct and present bi-yearly line reviews to key stake-holders.
• May be responsible for the management and professional development of one professional staff.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Minimum 4 years (or 2 years with MBA) experience in consumer or brand marketing.
• General understanding of the business objectives related to marketing/brand management.
• Some licensing experience/knowledge is strongly preferred.
• Effective analytical and research skills and ability to identify trends.
• Demonstrated understanding of standard marketing techniques.
• Strong relationship skills with the ability to manage cross-functionally.
• Basic understanding of research methodologies and when they are used.
• Ability to differentiate and create compelling positioning statements and relevance for our consumers and customers.
• Basic understanding of annual financial plans.
• Ability to provide insights to product and packaging development teams and give feedback on concepts in an effective and constructive manner.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.

EDUCTION REQUIRED:
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field required; MBA preferred.
