Associate Design Director (food & beverage packaging)

Vitamin T is assisting our client in their search for an Associate Design Director . This person will be responsible for creating design solutions and providing day-to-day direction over multiple design projects as assigned by the Design Director.


 Design Management

 Leads multiple design assignments and delivers creative design solutions for assigned projects.

 Acts as the primary backup to the Design Director.

 Reviews status of their own design projects daily. Reviews work to ensure that work proceeds according to company and client standards, schedule and budget. Promptly alerts team to changes or problems for discussion of impact and options.

 Provides design direction and guidance to designers.

 Participates/leads in “brainstorming” project meetings. This includes preparation of stimuli to be used at initial brainstorming session, as well as capturing ideas as they are generated with design execution suggestions.

 Prepares sketches and designs including input from all meetings and discussions. Presents design ideas in sketch form.

 Attends selected client briefings, strategy sessions, initial client presentation meetings, initial client presentation feedback sessions, to ensure information is carried forward into design activities.

 Works closely with the Design Director or Creative Director to review all final production materials prior to release of production.

 Responsible for wrapping up their own design team’s projects; including debrief, proper filing of sketches and samples, outside resources, etc.


♦ Education - Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts or related field or equivalent experience.

♦ Experience – Six (6) to ten (10) years experience in graphic/package design. Min. 3 years experience designing for Food & Beverage companies.

♦ Project Management – Strong project management skills to handle complex projects and to coordinate a number of designers on multiple projects.

♦ Technical Knowledge – Comprehensive knowledge of design processes, design

technology, software applications, and aesthetics etc.

♦ Ability to present design ideas in sketch form.
