Associate Creative Director (Branding)

  • The successful individual will have the vision and drive necessary to develop and lead our design department, both creatively and commercially. You’ll have a great eye for modern, beautiful design and understand how this interacts with and supports successful campaign and brand messaging. With experience in managing people, you will enjoy being involved in the day to day whilst maintaining the ability to consider the bigger picture. You will be responsible for developing and managing all aspects of our design and creative output. It's leadership role, with accountability for online and offline design output and commercial success of the design and creative department. You will ensure design and creative deliverables are aligned to client expectations and executed within budget and time frames

  • Responsibilities
  • Partner with other directors, the strategy team, and strategic partners to define and translate strategies into creative concepts
  • Lead group brainstorming/concept development sessions
  • Lead and inspire creative team to develop innovative design solutions, from broad concept development through implementation
  • Provide clear constructive direction on content and design solutions
  • Lead creative and production teams to ensure feasibility of design solutions and articulate design principles and guidelines for implementation
  • Lead client presentations and maintain client contact in area of expertise
  • Lead new business presentations as a subject matter expert
  • Define and lead cross-practice and cross-office initiatives
  • Extend client relationships and explore new ways to deliver value
  • Lead group brainstorming/concept development sessions
  • Define criteria for assessing concepts/project deliverables and solutions
  • Experience:
  • 8+ years of agency, consultancy or client experience
  • An advanced degree
  • Mastery of basic design principles including typography, line, form, color, pattern, contrast, scale, weight, etc.
  • Mastery in 1 or more areas of expertise:
  • Visual systems design
  • Digital design
  • information design
  • Proficiency in creative direction across multiple areas
  • Deep digital expertise
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography & limitations of online and offline design work
  • The ability to storyboard or translate ideas to designers and others, influencing external and internal stakeholders
  • A strong working knowledge of online and offline design, brand development and the creative process
  • Ability to lead design projects from concept to completion
  • Ability to supervise and develop employees
