Associate Creative Director

The Associate Creative Director partners with a Sr. Writer, and in addition to concepting and designing his/her own campaigns, is responsible for the creative and strategic marketing direction of all national advertising, direct marketing, corporate image, brand identity, innovative digital and experiential design campaigns assigned to their creative team(s). ACDs are responsible for their team meeting budgets and deadlines as well as making sure every campaign is on brand.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Serve as creative lead for a specific discipline (e.g. visual design, content or digital) and manage creative teams on designated client portfolios
• Manage one or more creative teams consisting of, but not limited to: Art Directors, Graphic Designers, Copywriters, Proofreaders, Animators, Videographers, Photographers, 3-D Designers, Digital Designers, Front End Developers and/or additional outside vendors as required
• Oversee creative project development, from initial concept to completion
• Mentor and lead creative, providing innovative insights and guidance to team members in order to maintain consistent creative quality and create award-winning work
• Provide functional, creative and process leadership
• Serve as a "right hand" to the Creative Director on large projects or when working with specific brands
• Develop solid relationships with departmental management as well as both internal and external clients
• Provide thought leadership related to creative and conceptual strategies, innovative design techniques, new marketing strategies and experiential and digital design strategies
• Advise on creative concepts and solutions and ensure that they meet strategic objectives, are on target and meet all necessary requirements
• Conduct internal and external client presentations on projects both big and small
• Make sure all jobs are completed within budget and on time
• Assist the Account Manager in estimating level of effort for big project initiatives and advise on creative staffing requirements/needs when necessary
• Provide and guide strategic thinking during creative kick-off meetings, brainstorming sessions and client presentations
• Provide informed opinion on marketing strategies and high level concepts, thinking outside the square to enhance product experience and add value to brands
• Participate in new business development efforts, leading strategic marketing and creative initiatives
• Serve as liaison between creative, account management and the client regarding creative strategy
• Ensure that the creative team uses and understands the approved creative brief and work with Account Managers and clients to develop a brief, if necessary
• Multi-task, think quickly and solve problems–especially during critical or stressful times
• Work on a high volume of projects with constantly changing deadlines while remaining attentive to details
• Ensure that the creative team uses best practices throughout the creative process in order to deliver high-quality work efficiently, timely and cost effectively
• Meet all agreed upon deadlines while following through on project requirements
• Help the Creative Director manage the creative staff including assisting in assessing and reviewing performance.
• Communicate personnel challenges to the Creative Director and offer solutions
• Assist in organizing and running weekly concepting team meetings and monthly team meetings
• Offer organizational, management, process and personnel ideas to the Creative Director to help improve systems, workflow efficiencies and ultimately creative outputs

• Innovative and out-of-the-box conceptual thinking
• Proficient in Creative Cloud (i.e. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign)
• Proficient Mac and PC skills
• Master of MS Office application (primarily, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of HTML 5, CSS and ActionScript a plus but not required
