Associate Advertising Designer (Retail)

Advertising Associate Designer - Temporary: is responsible for the production of preprints, run of press (ROP), catalogs, flyers, direct mail, point-of-purchase (POP), internal advertising vehicles, sales support, and company collateral, while adhering to direction and style.

1. Perform creative application of the branding style guide to specific campaigns, resulting in innovative designs for assigned media. This includes preprints, run of press (ROP), catalogs, flyers, direct mail, point-of-purchase (POP), internal advertising vehicles, sales support, company collateral and on-line and e-mail promotions.
2. Work with senior designer to create special treatments, events, or publications that address specific merchandising, vendor, or customer needs. Apply innovative online and offline communications consistent with brand and creative standards.
3. Assist in the development of stylebook templates.
4. Assist in workload review for regularly scheduled events and assist in daily workload distribution to ensure deadlines are met.
5. Produce pages to the published style guide of each assigned media.
6. Work with advertising senior designer to understand the art directing process and develop necessary skills to art direct photography and achieve best possible product presentation.
7. Ensure that deliverables are achieved on time while maintaining the highest standards of quality and creativity when working on multiple concurrent projects.
8. Create electronic final art for production processes within brand guidelines.
9. Work with senior designer to identify issues and recommend improvements to production process.
10. Coordinate projects and training for both full-time and freelance staff as directed by the senior creative designer.

Quantitative Dimensions:
The Advertising Associate Designer - Temporary receives creative supervision and questionable cases are referred to others. This position works under minimal supervision and needs to be organized and self-directed enough to start and complete tasks without supervision. Supervisor should be consulted about difficult tasks, unusual assignments and/or problems. Completed work is reviewed by the supervisor for conformance with format requirements and technical accuracy. The Advertising Associate Designer is responsible for the production of a portion of approximately 35,000 pages with more than 600,000 page touches within established quality standards while meeting pre-determined dates. This position will work under close to supervision with limited latitude for independent judgment. This position will consult with senior peers projects to learn through experience. This position will have basic skills.

Requirements
• This position requires knowledge graphic design and brand positioning acquired through formal education or 2 - 3 years on-the-job application. Also required is an understanding of retail, contract, advertising, production, marketing, e-marketing, and merchandising, as well as popular culture and current art and fashion trends. Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising or Graphic Design.
