Assistant Program Manager

Upcoming 6-Month Temporary Need: Assistant Program Manager providing assistance in executing the planning and coordination of marketing initiatives. Focus will be on assisting on a program/event that creates high-level relationship-building opportunities. Interviews will be conducted the first few weeks in January 2015 and successful candidate will start approximately February 2nd.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Under the direction of a Program Manager, will help execute all aspects of a year-round program, encompassing a large geographic area.
• Responsible for helping with communications, meetings, receptions and other events for this program.
• Assists with all marketing activities related to regional sponsor retention and new sponsor recruitment.
• Helps track and monitor expenditures averaging $200,000 to operate within approved guidelines and monitor return on investment.
• Project-manages and assists other team members with vendor and venue selection and other program logistical needs, including staffing receptions and other external marketing events to ensure their success.
• Works closely with production company on all elements of show production and staging for awards gala.
• Ensures timely and complete submission of applications.
• Helps develop local marketing materials.
• Works with manager to confirm the regional judging panel of CEOs.
• Assists with driving increased attendance to the annual awards gala.
• Works with the regional communications leader to drive firm-approved messaging and brand management associated with the program.
• Supports team on internal communication initiatives that align with company and regional priorities.
• Works closely with team in supporting strategic marketing and business development opportunities; helps foster relationships with key stakeholders.

DECISION MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Demonstrates a high level of understanding and application of principles and practices of program management with minimal supervision.
• Duties are generally varied in scope and are complex. Seeks input on decisions when appropriate from the regional leaders.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Ability to help coordinate multiple programs and/or events at one time.
• Extremely flexible attitude -- for example, our client needs someone who will roll up their sleeves and get the work done, be able to really go with the flow, and not get frustrated when something changes mid-stream.
• Strong organizational skills are required to be able to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong executive presence and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with C-level executives and business leaders and their teams.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Must have recent, relevant program/event experience.
• Approximately 5-7 years marketing and program management or equivalent experience.
• Experience in professional services environment a plus.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work onsite, approximate hours being 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM plus overtime. Long hours and some travel are required.
