Assistant Production Manager

The Assistant Production Manager is a member of a Global Production Team, which is responsible for the development, execution, and communication of a global production strategy. The Assistant Production Manager is the entry-level position within the Production Organization, but may independently manage a department. His/Her job is to obtain a general understanding of all Production functions in order to execute the seasonal production strategy. He/She works closely within a cross functional team that includes Design, Sourcing (GIS), Merchandising, R&D, Tech Services, Planning and Distribution, in order to support the end-to end production process.

Anticipated Work Frequency: (Per week or month) 5 days/week, but can be flexible

3. Scope of Services and Deliverables: Consultant will provide services to Synergy’s client as follows:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Product Management
• Manage and track production details through use of process and tools.
• Maintain accuracy of the Assortment Costing Tool (ACT).
• Support the Associate/ Manager in approving all product details.
• Manage and track production details, cut dates, delivery and booking milestones.
• Partner with Associate and/or Manager to confirm placement plan with sourcing channels.
• Communicate daily Production updates to Merchant and Design.
• Participate in weekly cross-functional meetings.
• Participate in monthly in-store quality assessments.

2. Financial Management
• Partner with Associate / Manager to negotiate product costing with GIS.
• Support costing process to achieve departments cost of goods goals.
• Partner with cross functional teams to maintain Vendor Managed Inventory and Sales Based Rapid Response. initiatives per department.
• Review business management reports to gain understanding of financial results.
• Communicate monthly receipt issues to sourcing channels and recommend an action plan.
• Ensure accuracy of Order Management Systems
• Support Cross Functional team in executing chase and fast-track Strategies.

3. Relationship Management
• Develop strong relationships with Mentors, Peers, and Sourcing Channels and Cross-Functional partners.
• Schedule training and educational opportunities (e.g., System/IT training, forms and reports).
• Actively participate in discussions for department, division or brand initiatives.
