Assistant Digital Laboratory Technician / Photographer

Job Description
• Ensures that the photographic and imaging needs for the client are met in a timely and professional manner.
• Provide support for the photography needs of the client and Executive Leadership Team:
• Making prints
• Research and emailing images
• Archiving
• Social media
• Media events
• Hearings on Capitol Hill
• Be able to plan photo shoots as follows:
• Scheduling of models
• Securing locations
• Lighting
• Packing gear
• Photo prop management
• Ensure that all images are processed:
• Naming the files which may include adding names to the file name (not just numbering).
• Adding metada if applicable, developing the files from RAW to jpg, or tiff
• Once selections have been made the images will have to be processed further to meet quality standards.
• Once Images are complete they are delivered to the client as needed
• Provide support for photo shoots at various locations. This may involve overnight or multi-day travel
• Maintain the studio/facility: cleaning, putting away gear, making sure things are organized and in proper working order.
• Provide support for archiving past shoots as well as updating/cleaning the stock image library.
• Provide photographic support for
• Postal Store
• Websites
• Product shots for various departments
• Official portraits
• Events

Qualifications

Education and Experience
This position requires at a minimum:
• 5-years of experience in photography and photo processing
• An associate degree, but preferably a bachelor's or advanced degree in Fine Arts in Photography or equivalent experience.

Additional Qualifications:
• Be highly creative with outstanding photography sensibilities and production skills.
• Able to process RAW digital files and post process images for final output.
• Understanding of Adobe Photoshop and other photography-related software.
• Understanding of color management and printing, including calibrating different platforms.
• Able to work with broad range of clients to deliver images.
• Able to work without supervision, manage time, and meet client's deadlines.
• Able to archive images into data base.
• Able to research archives and deliver historical images to clients.
• Able to scan images from archives.
• Able to get needed information for shoots.
• Able to work with the public and clients in a professional manner representing the client and the photography branch.
• Knowledge of full digital imaging using DSLR and medium-format cameras to capture images.
• Knowledge of studio and location lighting.
