Assistant Managing Editor, for an investment e-letter
Duties for assisting in the production of this Membership-based financial/investing e-letter include…
Work with our “gurus” to develop investing column ideas that build on their individual and collective experience in their fields.
Find the best opportunities to complement our written content with visual material – charts, graphics, infographics. Work with our in-house design team to bring out these powerful visualizations – such as the performance of a certain stock against the broad markets, or the dramatic decline of a company’s revenue, or the power of reinvesting dividends.
Pull from our raw copy inventory and shape the content into an easily digestible story with an irresistible, clickable intro and clear, valuable payoff for our Members. That usually includes telling people why this story is important today, and giving them an action to take.
Repurpose paid content to serve a free audience and generate interest in that paid content to help drive sales of our investment services. That involves communicating closely and collaborating frequently with other editorial teams/product managers to make sure that supporting role our copy plays is maximized.
Determine how copy and our publication as a whole can serve current or future business goals, such as supporting promotional material, or building a paid or free subscriber list, or adding names to existing lists.
Build and maintain an inventory of premium reports, whether or stocks or commodities or other investable instruments, to offer their Members.
Look for new ways to make our e-letter more informative and valuable than the industry standard, such as daily charts, heat maps, “Top 5/10”-style lists, etc. Any changes would serve their Members and increase click-thru and open rates. This would involve working with our eCommerce team, as well.
