Assistant Interactive Marketing Manager

Our client in DC is looking for an Assistant Interactive Marketing Manager that will be working closely with the Director of Marketing to implement, track and improve interactive marketing programs including PPC, SEO, media buying and email marketing.


Media Buying 20%
• Negotiate rates with media sales companies to obtain most competitive prices.
• Create media plan that includes niche websites, networks and some print.
• Collect information about the kinds of audiences that can be reached by the different media and the approximate size of those audiences.
• Use a combination of several different kinds of media to reach different audiences.
• Ensure an effective campaign through implementing tracking pixels, providing publishers with correct creative, monitoring and tracking and utilizing an sophisticated ad tracking system.
• Make recommendations on publishers, placements and ads.

SEO 10%
• Improve a company's organic search results.
• Ensure websites are filled with optimal keywords.
• Place keywords appropriately in copy to gain most search engine traffic.
• Write original, powerful SEO content for blogs and websites.
• Implement off-page SEO content strategies such as content promotions.
• Effectively use header tags.
• Keep abreast of white hat and black hat tactics so as not to violate search engine guidelines.
• Strategize ways to improve and track site performance.
• Compile and present SEO performance reports.
• Utilize basic programming and web design skills to enhance SEO.

PPC 30%
• Perform daily account management of pay per click accounts on Google AdWords, Yahoo, Bing and other search platforms.
• Maintain and monitor keyword bids, account daily and monthly budget caps, impression share, quality score and other important account metrics.
• Manage large keyword lists.
• Provide creative copy suggestions and graphical ad templates.
• Manage Display network placement lists on AdWords and through other contextual advertising platforms.
• Provide recommendations and execute strategies for keyword opportunities, campaign structuring, targeting, display network, and other facets of paid search in accordance with goals.
• Generate new paid search campaigns, ad groups, and accounts and aid in the creation of new paid search marketing initiatives.
• Generate weekly and monthly reporting for all major metrics, goals tracking, revenue tracking, and other paid search initiatives.
• Keep pace with search engine and PPC industry trends and developments.
• Monitor and administer web analytics dashboards, reports and key reporting tools, and point out key areas of importance in accordance client goals.
• Monitor and evaluate search results and search performance across the major search channels.

Email 30%
• Create email marketing campaigns to promote products or services.
• Ensure marketing message is conveyed clearly and delivered properly.
• Ensure messages are sent in proper form and template.
• Proofread emails for clarity, grammar, and spelling.
• Develop a personalization strategy.
• Include specific graphics, incentives, and detailed descriptions.
• Ensure messages are mobile-friendly.
• Manage database of emails for lead generation.
• Purge non-deliverable email addresses and opt-outs.
• Include persuasive 'call-to-actions' in advertisements and promotions.
• Use statistical analysis and reports to modify ongoing campaigns.
• Work with sophisticated software systems to send automated, smart email campaigns based on a set of rules.

Utility Player 20%
• Willing and able to jump into any CMS or platform to update content, change settings or troubleshoot

• Passion for interactive marketing.
• Outstanding ability to think creatively, and identify and resolve problems.
• Attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline driven atmosphere.
• Ability to clearly and effectively articulate thoughts and points.
• High levels of integrity, autonomy, and self-motivation.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, project management and time management skills.
• 5 years’ experience in SEO, PPC, coordinating launch of media campaigns and managing smart email campaigns.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Experience with website analysis using a variety of analytics tools including Google Analytics as well as internal reporting tools.
• Experience working with popular PPC ad platforms (AdWords, Yahoo, Bing).
• AdWords / Bing certification a plus.
• BS/BA degree preferred.
