Assistant Designer, Color

Our major fashion retail brand client is looking for an Assistant Designer, Color.

This person:
- Will be responsible for assisting in the identifying and forecasting of color trends and design concepts.
- Assists in the creation of all Runway Reports based on extensive research of fashion/runway shows worldwide.
- Executes the seasonal development process, which includes matching and ordering color chips, and acting as the liaison to the color technician.
- Manages the development and updating of the chipped master palette and templates of emotional space palettes.
- Drives work through proactive thinking, strong organizational skills, and seamless follow through.
- Demonstrates a passion for the brand, inspires individuals and relies on limited experience to plan and accomplish goals.
- Takes direction under immediate supervision, exercising a minimal degree of scope/decision making. Reports to Manager level or above and no direct reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with providing brand-right and customer driven color ideas/inspiration for highly visible lingerie line.
• Support the delivery of seasonal color concepts from initial research through to the creation/styling of boards for presentation.
• Drives the development and updating of the chipped master palette.
• Drives the development and updating of the templates of emotional space color palettes.
• Executes the seasonal development process, which includes matching and ordering color chips.
• Act as the liaison to the Color Technician.
• Apply processes to understand/anticipate the needs of the customer in order to exceed customer expectations and readily react to their needs.
• Utilize resources in sourcing new ideas, both internally and externally, and stay up to date on competitor research/trend analysis.
• Collaborate and follow-up on deliverables with vendors and key partners throughout the color process.
• Prepare materials for meetings and presentations and coordinate logistics.
• Achieve set goals with acute attention-to-detail, tracking progress & anticipating potential issues.
• Maintain organization of files/samples and archiving information.
• Build and maintain effective relations with key partners.
• Pursue/embrace opportunities to personally grow and develop skills/competencies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• 1-2 years’ experience in a fast paced fashion retail environment. Lingerie experience preferred.
• Strong creative with a keen eye for color, fashion and trends.
• Highly motivated, passionate and results oriented.
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible and creative problem solver.
• Champion for change and able to react with speed and agility.
• Collaborative partner with a team-oriented approach
• Creates credibility by consistently delivering on commitments.
• Personal professionalism and sense of accountability.
• Minimal domestic travel.
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or equivalent experience.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
