This team is set up to support sales and account managers – they are doing the tactical backend tasks that go along with supporting an Ad sales campaign. From RFP, Pre-sale to campaign success to post sale. They will need to understand excel really well – v look ups & pivot tables. They sell online ad space for MS (xbox, mobile, video, msn.com). Nationally Account Managers have 30-40 sales people and 21 Assistants. The AAM, does internal reporting for the Acct. Manager team.
Day in the life of AAM: If an Advertiser wants to ad on their property, go through an RFP, trying to target families and teens 18-24. This team fits the RFP, help with the RFP, inventory for ad impressions. The RFP goes out the clients, campaign starts and the campaign goes along the AAM makes sure inventory is delivering correctly. AAM puts data into a 1 sheeter, if campaign isn’t doing well in certain areas, run reports to suggest changes to the Account Team for changes for the campaign success. They will do the Final reporting and billing. Manual bill process, which involves putting #’s together and billed on time. Personality is key, eager to learn about online advertising. The career path is moving into Ad ops or Account Management or sales. Could be a good foot in the door with this leading client.
