Our client in the education technology space is seeking Assessment/Content writers for their Center for Early Reading. The product is in place, and they're seeking writers who can execute the specs of writing and generate content items in the molds which have been made.
Writers for CFER should have:
-Attention to detail: Specs for writing need to be followed very closely.
-Strong Communication: If something isn't clear, or a problem is encountered, writers must speak up quickly and clearly.
-Punctuality and Efficiency: the assignments always come with a deadline, sometimes it is a quick one. If you can't meet it, don't take the assignment. Others depend on this deadline.
-Creativity: These are young readers (1st and 2nd graders). Without engaging material, we will lose them.
-Adaptability: Not only will creativity be key, but creativity within a defined space, and for a defined age. Being able to adapt your work is key.
Writers may be expected to:
-Write passages of varying length--from pages to single sentences.
-Write similar passages for different grade groups, taking into consideration general sentence construction/syntax, vocabulary, and the decodable words.
-Write non-customer facing content, e.g. picture descriptions for our illustrators to create accompanying artwork for content items.
-Write answer choices, including distractors, of a specific nature.
The opportunity is 100% remote and part-time (roughly 15-20 hours per week), but the goal is to ramp up to full-time this spring/summer.
A short writing test is required for consideration.
